Anaheim, California is a city that's a household name across the USA, and maybe even many parts of the world, as well. For many years, it has been famous as the birthplace of modern theme parks, home of world-class sports venues and the location of excellent convention facilities. But shopping? Not exactly on anyone's hot list of malls.
With the opening of the Anaheim GardenWalk Mall in June, 2008, the shopping situation in Anaheim took a major leap forward. The Anaheim Garden Walk's grand opening date was June 14, 2008. Though not all of its businesses are open yet, a number of shops, restaurants and the Movie Experience Theater (with IMAX!) are open and waiting to serve you. With this new project, the city of Anaheim gets well on its way to becoming a popular shopping destination, in addition to all its other assets!
Anaheim Garden Walk Restaurants
The Anaheim GardenWalk Mall's restaurants are ready and waiting to receive you! Its restaurants were the first enterprises to open up at the Garden Walk. Their attractive architecture, decor and landscaping gives an elegant new look to Katella Avenue...a route many tourists travel on their way from Interstate 5 to Disneyland Park. You may choose from the following great dining choices at the Anaheim GardenWalk:1.) Bar Louis Tavern and Grill, phone number 714/495-4170. Louis' jumbo specialty sandwiches will make your mouth water...but you'll also find a range of other pastas and entrees, as well.
2.) Bubba Gump Restaurant and Market, phone number 714/635-GUMP. The Bubba Gump Shrimp Co specializes in seafood entrees in a cute, themed casual dining atmosphere. Bubba Gump hours: the restaurant opens daily at 11 am, and serves lunch and dinner meals. The market opens at 10 am daily
3.) California Pizza Kitchen, phone number (714) 991-0305. If you bring your Italian grandma here, expect her to be VERY puzzled by the unusual concoctions cooked up by CPK's chefs. This is not your ordinary pepperoni & sausage pizza parlour; think California Cuisine, Mango Tandoori Chicken, or Japanese eggplant, instead!
4.) Cheesecake Factory Restaurant, phone number 714/533-7500. You may choose from dozens of tasty cheesecake varieties and other desserts here...but don't let the restaurant's name fool you. There's a complete line of entrees and starters offered here, and with this restaurant's large portion sizes, you'll be too full to eat any cheesecake at all, if you're not careful!
5.) Fire + Ice Grill + Bar, phone number 714/808-9757. You're in control of the menu at Fire + Ice. Choose from an array of fresh meats, fish and vegetables for your entree, which will be grilled on the restaurant's specially-built grill. Select one of 10 specialty sauces to complete the main dish that you've designed.

This is the Anaheim GardenWalk's 2nd restaurant featuring seafood, but as you probably already know, McCormick & Schmick restaurants feature an upscale atmosphere, distinctive entrees and impressive meal presentations to make your dining experience perfect for celebrating life's most important occasions.8.) PF Chang's China Bistro, phone number 714/507-2021. This popular restaurant features Mandarin cuisine with an imaginative flair, served in an upscale-casual atmosphere.

SNACKING: Several snack shops are now open at The Anaheim GardenWalk so you can take a pick-me-up break between shopping, strolling and catching a movie. Marble Slab Creamery ice cream shop is now open! So is the Palama Hawaiian BBQ, the Cinnabon bakery, the Submarina sandwich shop and other snacking and fast food choices.

Come catch the latest new-release film to make your "must see" list! You'll find the Anaheim GardenWalk's new theater on the upper level at the back of the mall (in the Food Court area.)
Cinema Fusion Theater amenities: The new luxury theater features all stadium seating, plush chairs and an expanded list of food & snack offerings. In addition, you may view both Hollywood Hits and IMAX documentary features in the theater's giant-screened IMAX auditorium. The Anaheim Garden Walk movie theater also has special screening rooms (the Sky Box Theaters) which are reserved for patrons age 21 and over (only.) Leather seating is part of the plush ambience in the Sky Box theaters, and alcoholic beverages are served.

Anaheim GardenWalk Entertainment
The 300 Anaheim Bowling and Entertainment Center is now open at the Garden Walk. With a dimly-lit interior, stylish furniture, and even private lane rentals, 300 Anaheim brings upscale bowling to the Disneyland Resort area. Similar in style to the Jillian's, Strike or Lucky Strike bowling centers with which you may be familiar, 300 Anaheim makes bowling "in" again with its trendy decor, contemporary music and expanded food selections. Though evenings are geared towards the singles scene and parent's night out, but daytimes at 300 Anaheim are family-friendly. The 300 Anaheim bowling center's phone number is 714-783-2810.

The Anaheim GardenWalk Mall will someday have a full list of stores and become an important part of the Orange County shopping scene. Southern Californians have waited for this mall for years, watching & wondering through the joys & setbacks of its development if there would actually ever BE a Garden Walk at all. So, after all this waiting, what's a few more weeks or months of waiting for the stores to fill in here?In other words, if you come to shop at the Garden Walk during its first several months after opening, you might just be a little underwhelmed at your choices. But that'll change.

Anaheim Garden Walk address, directions and hours
Directions to the Anaheim GardenWalk Mall: From the I-5 Freeway, take the Katella Ave exit and head west (as if you're heading towards Disneyland Park. See map below.) Before you reach the theme park, however, you'll get to the new Garden Walk center. Get into the right lane ASAP after leaving the freeway so that you'll be ready to enter the parking garage without the other traffic blocking you. You won't be able to see the parking structure as you approach it. Put on your right turn signal as you pass the Cheesecake Factory, then turn right immediately after Bubba Gump's restaurant.
