Trendy-looking stores, cutting edge products

If your cell phone is an Apple iPhone, that is.
When the Apple iPhone hit the stores earlier this year, the move seemed to bring us all closer to the future. The future in which we're all connected to our friends, our favorite websites, breaking news...basically any info we want...almost anywhere we go.
My son-in-law is a gadget-lover. He's always in the line for the realease of each latest game system, the brand new video games, and...of course...for the Apple iPhone. He's had it since Day 1, and quickly became the center of attention anywhere he was seen using it.
The Apple iPhone instantly became the "new toy" to have. My son-in-law wasn't alone in garnering attention just from using his new iPhone. One bride complained to Readers Digest that her new groom's attention drifted away from the wedding ceremony when his Best Man pulled out a new Apple iPhone. The groom simply couldn't take his eyes off of it...a feat that was supposed to be reserved for the beautiful bride!
Now that my son-in-law has had his iPhone several months and the newness has worn off, he does notice some chinks in the iPhone's armor. He talks about his iPhone "likes and dislikes" in the next section of this page.
Apple iPhone---Pros and Cons
In a nutshell, the Apple iPhone offers the public many groundbreaking features...but it's not problem free.1.) It's expensive: Not only is the initial cost higher than other phones, but in addition to your phone service plan, you've gotta get an internet service plan too, if you expect to surf the net from your iPhone. (And, if you DON'T, why bother getting the Apple iPhone in the first place?) 2.) It doesn't mesh with 3rd party accessories well: Cases by other companies which are meant to fit the iPhone don't always do the job very well. And sometimes you can't even get 3rd party accessories---like ringtones, for example. They HAVE to come from iTunes. Here's what my son-in-law, Tad Crawford, has to say about his Apple iPhone after having had time to think about its "pros and cons."
"I've had the IPhone since launch and I would have to say that it's the most user friendly phone I've had. The touch screen and easy ITunes interface (with automatic updates) have made this the first phone that I haven't had to read the manual to use. The "pinching" to zoom, the easy scrolling of emails and web pages and the quick access to all functions put this phone miles in front of the competition.
"I travel for work and I'm always looking for ways to limit the amount of items I carry on board the airplane, with the IPhone I was able to leave my PDA and my IPod at home and still have the same functionality.
"This is not to say that the IPhone is perfect. There are still some quibbling issues, such as the inability to create ring tones without buying songs directly from ITunes, since I have a great number of songs from CD and Yahoo music I would actually need to re-purchase these songs to create ring tones out of them. Also, the web browser "Safari" is incapable of displaying any Flash pages, this is a problem as a good number of web sties out there use Flash.
"Another problem is that The EDGE network by AT&T (which the IPhone uses when there is no wireless LAN connection) is also about the same speed as dial-up and takes about 30-60 seconds to download a page. A few last complaints are smaller, but make a difference to me. The first is that I've been through about 5 cases for the IPhone, between bulkiness, interference with the ear sensor (the sensor that turns off the faceplate when you have the phone up to your ear to avoid pushing any buttons) and just bad design, I've spent a good deal more money that I have ever had to with past phones. The last point is that the IPhone is not able to use A2DP Bluetooth, basically this means that you cannot get Bluetooth stereo headphones to work with the IPhone.
"Despite these drawbacks I don't regret getting my IPhone, as I stated originally, it's user friendliness, ability to remove extra devices from your life and overall functionality makes it one of the best phones I've ever owned."
