Another part of Brea Downtown extends along the adjacent, wide Brea Boulevard. Though Brea Blvd doesn't offer the same cozy feel as its narrower counterpart, Birch Street, you'll still find some interesting shopping, dining and entertainment along this bustling, archetecturally-updated thoroughfare.

Entertainment at the Brea Downtown district
There are 2 Edwards Cinemas at the Brea Downtown district.
Both of these are modern theaters featuring stadium seating, digital sound, and comfy chairs. Either one of them is a great place to see a movie, and both are just a short stroll away from a downtown Brea parking terrace.
So why are there TWO theaters, then? That's because when Brea Downtown was being planned and developed, the designers wanted to create a cozy little shopping area along Birch Street. They felt that a giant Edwards megaplex would be too large & too out-of-proportion to the rest of the development to "fit in" with its smaller scale. So, the idea of a huge cinema was dropped...but not scrapped altogether. The Edwards Theater folks ended up with as many screens on Birch Street as they originally wanted...but the auditoriums were split between 2 theaters! They are the Edwards 10 Theater and the Edwards 12 Cinema. (The photo to your left shows the Edwards 10; and the photo at the very top of this page is the Edwards 12 Cinemas.) Which theater you'll want to attend depends on which film you'd like to see...because the theaters "work together as one" to bring you the full range of current movies that would be offered (just as if they were one giant megaplex theater instead of two smaller cinemas.)
