A number of older malls across Southern California have undertaken remodeling and reconstruction, and have turned themselves from blah & boring shopping centers into beautiful & bustling beehives of activity.The Buena Park Mall...now named "Buena Park Downtown"...is one of those malls who has made updates to give it a brand new look. (Well, as is usually the case, the Sears department store is a holdout; you can tell what the mall USED to look like just by heading to the Sears end of the building!)
The REST of the mall is looking great---and business is building. Head to the back of the mall, where the teffific, modern Krikorian Theaters draw crowds that fill the parking lot around it, and you'll see what a difference that the right look can do for a mall! Around the Krikorian Cinema, you'll see a cute outdoor strolling area lined with snacking & shopping opportunities meant to keep theater-goers occupied while awaiting their movies to begin. You'll also see pretty landscaping, attractive fountains, and inviting benches on which to sit.

Entertainment at the Buena Park Mall is headed up by the lovely Krikorian Theater. Every auditorium features comfy, roomy chairs and stadium-style seating. You'll also find the latest digital sound systems to enhance your enjoyment of the latest hit movies which are screened here.
The Krikorian features matinee pricing for all movies beginning before 6 pm...and there's also an even-steeper discount for the "early bird" shows. (The "early bird" pricing takes effect on Mondays thru Fridays for the first showing of each film for the day.) Student, Senior, Military and kids' discounts are also available at the Krikorian Theater.

Buena Park Downtown's clothing and department stores
While entertainment and dining is one of the Buena Park Mall's strong points, that doesn't mean you won't be able to do some clothes shopping while you're there. So far, not many of the big name brands of retailers have moved into the mall...but you can shop at locations of the chain stores who have taken that chance, and check out some of the smaller-chain and independent clothing stores featured at the mall. Some stores, such as Kohl's Department store, are located in the mall-owned shopping center across the street from the main mall.

On Saturdays, the Buena Park Mall opens at 10 am and closes at 8 pm. And, on Sundays, the mall's opening time is 11 am and its closing time is 7 pm. However, there are many exceptions to this schedule...most notably the large chain stores, major restaurants and the Krikorian movie theaters.
