But, there IS one outlet mall in Southern California that CAN make such claims...and that's the Desert Hills Premium Outlets in Cabazon, California. (Cabazon is located near Palm Springs at the far western edge of the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area.)

Although the Desert Hills Premium Outlets are not the closest outlet stores to most residents of the Los Angeles/Orange County metro area, Desert Hills "packs 'em in" nevertheless, because of the unique shopping opportunities it has to offer. In fact, visitors from all over the world head to the Desert Hills Premium Outlets while touring Southern California. Desert Hills is quite a popular shopping center!

If you're headed either into or out of Southern California on Interstate 10, why not stop in to take a peek? The Desert Hills Center is conveniently located directly at the side of I-10 (just off the Fields Road exit). Nearby attractions are the Morongo Casino and several unusual, kitschy dinosaur statues that always enchant children.

Also, if you're taking children to Cabazon, California, be sure to drop by the outdoor dinosaur exhibit just 2 exits east of the Desert Hills Outlet Mall. You'll find several large dinosaurs that children are fond of viewing. You can see one of them in the photo to your right (along with another thing nearly as rare as dinos---SNOW in southern California!) There is a small store in the base of one of the dinos, but you don't need to shop there to look at the exhibit. Viewing the dinosaurs is free of charge, and---since they're outside without a fence around them---the exhibit is always open.
