In that case, Mom and Dad might even need to split up, one staying in each of the two rooms, in order that fits of hysterical crying and moans of "I'm scared!" won't be heard. Even when you can split the family easily into two units, there's just something about being in two different rooms that may interrupt everyone's sense of togetherness---which is the very reason you're taking your vacation in the first place! Finding vacation condo units near LegolandGrand Pacific Palisades resort hotelYou're not going to find that same over-abundance of available condo units when you visit Southern California. While some companies have been trying to push timeshare condos in this area, they haven't been as successful in capturing people's interest here. But, that doesn't mean you won't find any condos for rent at all. The Grand Pacific Palisades hotel has condo units available...and it's right next door to Legoland Park! In fact, it's within walking distance. It's even a official part of the Legoland resort complex! You've already viewed many pictures of the Grand Pacific Palisades resort in the slides at the top of this page. Isn't it lovely and modern? The Grand Pacific Palisades hotel calls its multi-room units with kitchens "villas." They come in one, two and three-bedroom sizes. While you might feel out-of-place at some upscale resorts when you bring a large family, you won't feel that way at the Grand Pacific Palisades. After all, its affiliation with Legoland means that quite a few families with kids stay here! They have separate swimming pools for adults and kids...and (at least during school breaks) the family pools stays busy from morning until evening. Be sure to make reservations early; the large villa units sell out much more quickly than the resorts "regular hotel" style rooms. Residence Inn of Carlsbad and OceansideThe Carlsbad Residence Inn: Large families may already be familiar with Marriott's popular chain of Residence Inns. There are two Residence Inn locations close to Legoland; in fact, the Carlsbad location is only a stone's throw from the theme park. (The other, situated in Oceanside, is only a few minutes away by car.) There are also several other Residence Inns in greater San Diego, if you'd care to stay in another location (eg. closer to Sea World, if your family will be visiting there, too.)At Residence Inns, you'll experience "the comforts of home," just as they advertise. Especially important to families are their complete kitchenette facilities, where you can make full meals...or snack on frozen treats like ice cream...without paying high restaurant prices. Depending on the size of your family, you can choose a one or two bedroom unit; either one will have a separate living area, as well. Pets are welcome.
