California's #1 Family Tourist Destination!
In the slide show above, you're viewing pictures of favorite Disneyland rides and characters! What sorts of things can you see and do at Disneyland Park? MANY things! You'll find out the wide variety of fun things to do at Disneyland as you read through this page!
Will you like Disneyland Park? Most probably, YES!Receiving 13 to 15+ million visitors per year, Disneyland Park, in Anaheim, California, is MORE than just the #1 family vacation destination in metro Los Angeles.
It's the 2nd most-visited theme park on the planet! (Disneyland's sister park, Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida is the #1 most-visited park.)
Since so many people have already visited venerable Disneyland Park, it's intimidating for me to be writing about it. What DON'T you already know?
Still, there are plenty of people who HAVEN'T seen Disneyland Park yet...and, for them, I'm including this section. Hopefully, if you're already an expert on the subject, I can at least bring you a little bit of nostalgia as you read through the pages of this module and gaze at the photos. And, who knows? Maybe you'll even find a tidbit or two that you didn't know before.
Note: In the photo to your left, you can see one of the 3 new animatronic Jack Sparrow figures which were added to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride after the series of hit movies were made. If you haven't been to Disneyland Park in the last several years, be sure to head for the Pirates ride in New Orleans Square to check out the new additions! For info about the new Captain Jack Sparrow characters and other refurbishments that were done, you may use the following link to head to the "Jack Sparrow Additions" page of our site.
Disneyland California: Fantasyland Rides & Attractions
Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California is organized into various themed areas. The most popular of these, judging from the number of Google searches, is Fantasyland. Fantasyland at Disneyland Park is a children's wonderland, giving kids the opportunity to ride attractions based on the classic Disney films of yore.
Here on your left, you can see a photo of a Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride "car" from Fantasyland. This ride typifies the Fantasyland theme of relating its rides to Disney's children's classics.
Rather than constantly changing its attractions to spotlight the Disney company's current movie hits, Fantasyland has stayed centered on the films produced by Walt Disney himself. The effect is a Fantasyland that stays the same from year to year...and is an extremely nostalgic place where parents (and grandparents) can share with their children the essentially the SAME experiences that they themselves had as children several decades ago!
In the Fantasyland area of Disneyland Park, you'll see rides based on Disney's animated version of the classic children's story of Peter Pan...and also Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, Pinocchio, Dumbo, Mr. Toad from Wind in the Willows, and Alice in Wonderland. You can view a live performance in the Fantasyland Theater (seasonal.) You can hop a serene little canal boat to view miniature fairy tale villages...or take a screamingly-wild roller coaster ride on Matterhorn Mountain.

Adult theme-park lovers will enjoy introducing their kids to the joys of rollercoaster-riding on Gadget's Go Coaster. And, what child doesn't love jumping around? Disneyland California: Tomorrowland Rides & AttractionsTomorrowland is the "futuristic" themed area at Disneyland California. Along with Fantasyland, Tomorrowland shares the "most popular land" title, judging from Google searches made about it.
In contrast to Fantasyland's nostalgic same-ness, Tomorrowland is continually re-inventing itself. As yesterday's "tomorrow" becomes "today," Tomorrowland accepts the challenge of "keeping up with the future!"
Tomorrowland's concept of the future features a new ride starring Buzz Lightyear, a fun-filled attraction starring the Star Wars characters R2D2 and C3PO, and a completely redecorated and refurbished Space Mountain. In addition, a special attraction honoring Walt Disney and showing highlights of Disneyland Park's first 50 years is delighting guests (in the "Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln theater) was such a hit during Disneyland Park's anniversary celebration that it stayed on so more visitors could enjoy the presentation.
