Disneyland Dining and Menus -- Tomorrowland
Tomorrowland features 2 casual-dining restaurants which serve lunch and dinner. One is Tomorrowland Terrace (which you'll recognize by its stage where live performances are held throughout the day.) The other Tomorrowland restaurant is Redd Rockett's Pizza Port, specializing in pizza and pasta dishes. Here are sample menus for both---
Tomorrowland Terrace
You'll find the Tomorrowland Terrace counter-service restaurant with outdoor seating only right across from the Innoventions building in Tomorrowland. The 2 service windows offer a slightly different menu from one another---so you might want to check out the menus on both sides before ordering. On both sides, however, the menus center around burgers and sandwiches. Menu items include the following general types of items. (The prices listed are just meant to be a guideline; Disneyland may raise their food prices at any time.)Hamburgers and Cheeseburgers---served with French fries, costing $6--8Sandwiches---such favorites as grilled chicken, sliced turkey, or roast beef and cheese, and served with a side order of French fries or cole slaw. Prices run around $6--8.Basket lunches---such as fried chicken strips or fish planks, served with French fries and slaw...selling around $9 per basket.Main Dish Salads---a small variety of green salads, such as the Caesar salad topped with grilled chicken. Main-dish salads run around $8--9.Kid's meals---Several children's meals are served, which cost $6 each. They include a child-size main dish, a side dish (choice of fries, chips or fresh carrots), a beverage, and a souvenir plastic box.
Redd Rockett's Pizza Port
For the last several years, I've been in the habit of eating at Redd Rockett's Pizza Port when I eat a meal at the park. (Sometimes I just snack---the bakery's brownies are large and filling.) I like the way I can usually find a table at the Pizza Port---even in the noon hour when other restaurants are stuffed. I like the decor---which features a "retro" look---rather like a 1960's version of the future. I like the nostalgic Disneyland ride posters on the wall. I admit that I'd like to eat some of the more unusual offerings at New Orleans Square restaurants, but the quick in-and-out convenience of the less-crowded Pizza Port is too important for me to change.Anyway, here's that menu--- Pasta dishes---Every day there's a selection of several pasta entrees (spaghetti is always one of them.) Prices range from $7--8 for a large portion. Garlic bread is included with the meal.Pizzas---Every day, you can find cheese or pepperoni pizza, plus there's a rotating "daily special." Large slices cost $5--6, and whole pizzas (large, 16" round) run from $27--30.Main Dish Salads---Salad eaters have a wider choice of main dish salads at the Pizza Port than at some of the other Disneyland dining facilities. The "pizza" salad is one of the unusual offerings here! Main dish salads run from $6--9.Kids' meals---The pasta child's meal here is filling enough for me! The one, giant meatball atop the child's portion of spaghetti looks skimpy at first...until you actually EAT IT! After only one meatball, I'm full---and yet, the adult portion of spaghetti comes with 2 of them!Drinks---Although soft drink prices are the same here as at other restaurants in the park (see Disneyland Dining part 1 for the park's beverage prices), Redd Rockett's Pizza Port has traditionally offered 1 free refill. There's no sign announcing this---ask the cashier to make sure they're still offering this special when you arrive.
Disneyland Dining and Menus --- Critter Country
The Hungry Bear
The Hungry Bear is a rustic-themed restaurant in Critter Country located near Splash Mountain. After ordering, you'll eat your food at a pleasant table overlooking Tom Sawyer's Island while you watch the Davy Crockett Canoes and the Mark Twain Paddlewheeler floating by on the river.A sample of menu items at the Hungy Bear follows. Once again, prices are just approximate and could change at any time. Burgers---This restaurant offers a small selection of veggieburgers, hamburgers and cheeseburgers in the $6--7 price range. This price does include a side order of french fries with your burger.Sandwiches---The Hungry Bear offers a selection of sandwiches, including, roasted and fried chicken patties and roast beef. Sandwhiches are served with chips or fries, and cost $6--8.Main Dish Salads---The Hungry Bear offers a small selection of lettuce-based salads, including the unusual specialty BBQ chicken salad.Children's meals---The Hungry Bear offers a choice of 2 different kids meals for $6. They include the main dish, a side order, a beverage and a souvenir plastic box (in which the meal comes).
Disneyland Dining and Menus --- Frontierland
Rancho del Zocalo Mexican Restaurant
Offering many delicious selections which will give you a break from burgers and fries, the very beautiful Rancho del Zocalo offers you a selection of Mexican and Tex-Mex foods. You'll find---Western-style BBQ---including chicken and ribsMexican Specialty Dishes---such as shrimp, chicken and tamales with authentic Mexican spices and salsas. These entrees are serves with south-of-the-border-inspired side dishes, and cost around $12--15.Familiar-to-Americans Mexican-style dishes---These include several varieties of the ever-popular-in-California tacos, burritos, enchiladas and nachos. These dinners are served with a side order of refried beans, and run in the $9 to $11 neighborhood.Main Dish Salads---These specialty salads are hand-tossed before your eyes! You'll find several Mexican-spiced salads at Rancho del Zocalo that are unique to this restaurant. Prices run $9--11.Kids meals---the children in your family can get Mexican-food mini-meals here at Rancho del Zocalo! As usual, the kid's meals cost $6, and come with a side dish, a beverage, and a plastic souvenir box.Authentic Mexican Desserts---Can't get to Guadalajara or Mexico City? That's OK---Rancho del Zocalo has brought tasty, authentic Mexican desserts here for you to try! Mexican flan is a custard dessert, and very delicious---as well as mild! (Not every type of Mexican food is spicy!) The "tres leches" cake is a moist cake which, as the name says in Spanish, contains 3 types of milk. (I believe those 3 types are whole milk, evaporated milk and condensed milk, but don't quote me on it!) Even my adult daughter who doesn't like cake enjoys the "tres leches" cake. Desserts at Rancho del Zocalo run around $5 each.
River Belle Terrace
Adjacent to New Orleans Square, you'll find The River Belle Terrace, which features old-fashioned Southern-style cooking. At your left, you see a "flashback foto" of this restaurant that I took in 1974. Some things at Disneyland change so little! Only the size of the trees and the color of the umbrellas has changed! (Well...come to think of it, prices have changed a bit, too!) The River Belle Terrace is one of the few restaurants at Disneyland which serve breakfast. You'll find a selection of egg styles, Mickey-shaped waffles, pancakes, bacon, sausage and fruit served for the breakfast meal.
Here's a sample of the luncheon and dinner menus for The River Belle Terrace restaurant--- BBQ Favorites---You can get BBQ chicken or ribs here---or a combination of both! These entrees come with a whole slew of side orders---BBQ beans, corn, cole slaw AND cornbread. What a meal! All that for only $11--13.Sandwiches---The sandwich selection here includes the old-standbys, as well as very unique catfish and salmon sandwiches! Prices range from $9--11, and include a side order.Main dish soups and salads---You can choose a green salad, or hearty chowder---or BOTH, with the half-and-half plate. You can also find fruit salad at the River Belle. Soups and salads range from $8 to $11 here.Kids meals---Of COURSE you'll find the famous $6 Disney kids' meals here, giving your children a choice of main dish, side item and beverage for that price.
