Anaheim's Disneyland Hotel -- Enchanting!
Enjoy photos of the lovely Disneyland Hotel, pool and gardens
In the slide show above, you're viewing pictures of the Disneyland Hotel and its lovely grounds. You may not have realized that the Disneyland Hotel is comprised of 3 separate hotel towers joined by a large garden area featuring lovely landscaping, restaurants, shops, a remote control boat pond, topiary sculptures, and cute photo op spots...but after seeing these photos, you will. In fact, exploring the Disneyland Hotel's "campus" is almost as much fun as visiting the Disneyland theme park! Whether or not you decide to stay at the Disneyland Hotel, you can certainly see that when you visit the theme park, you should stop by the hotel to enjoy its beauty. It's a tourist attraction all by itself!
Disneyland Hotel history & overview
Disneyland Hotel Room pictures
Enjoy Disney-themed rooms that are whimsical...but not childish
In the photo to your left, you can see a typical bed at the Disneyland Hotel. The Disneyland beds have beautiful wood head and foot boards and an attractive bedspread (featuring subtle scenes of Disneyland Park rides, such as the Haunted Mansion, the Mark Twain paddle wheeler river boat and the Jungle Cruise ride.) The mattresses are comfortable. The one thing that could be better about the beds is their size. Though the Disneyland Hotel literature says that its beds are queen-sized, I could swear that I remember queen-sized beds being a little wider than these beds are. Both beds have a good view of the television set, and a remote control device lets guests change the TV channel from their beds.
There is a stylish wooden cabinet across from the beds which holds a color television. A selection of cable TV channels is available in each room at the Disneyland Hotel---and OF COURSE, the Disney Channel is one of them! The outside of the wooden cabinet is decorated with an artistic drawing of Disneyland Park. (As you can see, the room is subtly decorated with Disney touches...rather than screaming out "Hey, you're in Mickey Mouse territory now!" Obviously, a couple of adults staying at the Disneyland Hotel without children in tow will not feel like the room is "too kiddish," nor should teenaged guests.
Disneyland Hotel Bathroom pictures
The Disneyland Hotel bathroom is elegant. Like the hotel room itself, the bathroom doesn't "scream out" Mickey Mouse. And yet, on closer inspection, you WILL find decorative touches that let you know you're indeed staying at the Disneyland Hotel.
One of those "only in Disneyland" touches is seen in the picture of Sneezy (one of Snow White's Seven Dwarfs) by the bathroom tissue dispenser! Little outlines of Mickey Mouse's head are also found in the Disneyland Hotel bathroom (not pictured here.)
Another whimsical touch that says "Disneyland" are the cute bathroom light fixtures. Here you can see Mickey Mouse's 4-fingered white glove holding a light by the Disneyland Hotel's bathroom vanity.
Of course, some rooms at the Disneyland Hotel have better views than others. Naturally, only half of the rooms in the three towers can face the hotel's beautifully landscaped courtyard. The other half of the rooms must face elsewhere. Some of the rooms which don't face the Disneyland Hotel's courtyard are lucky enough to overlook the Downtown Disney District...that cutesy area full of shopping and dining opportunities for Disneyland Resort guests. Other rooms only get partial views of the Disneyland resort...or none at all. Rooms may face parking lots or the houses of Anaheim, California. For example, the Paradise Pier Hotel may be seen from the Disneyland Hotel room (in the Bonita Tower) from which I took this photo on your right. The photo is a tad deceptive, though. I was specifically TRYING to take a photo of the best view from the room. If I had taken a shot looking STRAIGHT out of the room (instead of angled to the left), you would be looking at a photo of the Downtown Disney overflow parking lot---this room's MAIN view! Naturally, rooms with the best views cost more than rooms with the so-so views. Base prices for Disneyland Hotel rooms are for those rooms WITHOUT great views. Only YOU can decide if facing the darling Peter Pan swimming pool and manicured greenery of the courtyard area is worth an extra fee to you. In the photo below, you can see a close-up of a Disneyland Hotel bedspread. Can you make out Mickey's face? Or a sketch of the Haunted Mansion...or the Mark Twain stern wheeler?

Amenities on the Disneyland Hotel's grounds
Disneyland Hotel's Fun for tweens and teens
What can tweens and teens do for amusement within the Disneyland Hotel grounds? For one thing, there's a remote control boating area. For a small fee, you may take an RC boat for a spin around an attractive pond...decorated with little buildings, bridges, waterfalls, etc. (In the photo on your left, you're looking at part of the remote-control boating pond.)
The Disneyland Hotel has a decent-sized game arcade, too. The Disneyland Hotel is centrally located in the building you see in the photo to your right. At the front of the building, there's a gift shop popular with adults looking for tastefully crafted gifts. In the back of the building, you'll find the arcade. Naturally, coin-operated video games are what you'll find inside. The selection isn't large...but then, it's not small either. Tweens and teens could easily pass an hour or two here. (Note: the arcade is open even when the gift shop is not...so don't get discouraged if you see a "closed" sign on the front door. Just head around back and you'll find the arcade, which opens earlier and closes later than the gift shop up front.)
You may have read in the Disneyland Hotel promotional literature that the hotel has 2 swimming pools. And yet, the hotel usually shows photos of its flashy Peter Pan-themed pool. So, where's the Disneyland Hotel's 2nd swimming pool? The Disneyland Hotel's second pool is also in the courtyard area of the hotel complex. It's half-way hidden by a row of tall greenery. Also, the 2nd swimming pool isn't always open at the Disneyland Hotel. During the fall, winter and spring months, the weather in Anaheim is cooler than during the summer months. Not as many hotel guests swim. Therefore, the 2nd pool closes and all the guests use the Neverland-Themed pool.
When the Disneyland Hotel's second pool IS open, your teens may enjoy the fact that the pool area is "plain"---that is, there are no "kiddie" decorations to be found at the pool. Also, there's a sand volleyball where teens can get a game going with other teens they might meet at the hotel. (Or, your family may start up a friendly duel against another family!)
Disneyland Hotel Photos -- Beautiful Disneyland Hotel Landscaping
If you stay at the Disneyland Hotel, taking a walk around the lushly landscaped hotel grounds is a "must." You'll find tall trees and roaring waterfalls. You'll find plenty of family photo ops...from brightly colored flower beds to artificial "photo backdrops" featuring Disney cartoon characters. You'll discover all the interesting Disneyland Hotel dining opportunities which are scattered around the property...as well as private ballrooms and smaller dining rooms (which you can make a mental note about renting for some special occasion in the future!) You'll even stumble across several decorative gazebos on your walk about the hotel grounds---these gazebos are where many Disney-loving couples have chosen to get married!
Above on your left, you see the photo of a strolling path bordered by dense greenery on the Disneyland Hotel grounds. (You'll find this area near the Bonita Tower.)On your right, you're viewing a photo of a "photo op" backdrop in the Disneyland Hotel courtyard. (It is behind this Mickey-and-Friends photo spot where you'll find the Disneyland Hotel's 2nd swimming pool---with sand volleyball area---hidden behind the trees and shrubbery.
One delight you'll enjoy on the Disneyland Hotel grounds is the set of topiary statues. (They're not all in one place...you'll have to find them!) On the previous Disneyland Hotel page, you saw a photo of Topiary Mickey. Here on your left, you can see a photo of Topiary Donald Duck!
Here's a whimsical picture of the Captain Hook's Pirate Ship from the Peter Pan-themed main swimming pool at the Disneyland Hotel. This pool is certain to delight guests from toddlers to senior citizens with its cute and colorful decor. (Even teens---though they might not admit to it!) Even the restrooms get into the themed fun---omitting the "men's room" sign in favor of the term "Lost Boys!"
