Disneyland Paradise Pier Hotel

Great theme park views, plus lower rates than other Disneyland hotels!

In the slide show above, you're viewing pictures of Disneyland's Paradise Pier Hotel. As you can see, this beautiful hotel is attractive, colorful and modern. It's decor is whimsical...built around a "Disney characters go to the beach" theme. On this page, you'll discover details about this fun Disney Resort hotel.

Picture: Paradise Pier Hotel at Disneyland in Anaheim, California Disneyland's Paradise Pier Hotel is an attractive, modern hotel which could make a fine place to stay during your Disneyland vacation. The Disneyland Resort's Paradise Pier Hotel is the first choice of some Disneyland California guests because its room rates are less than the other two Disney-owned hotels at the park. Therefore, guests wishing to stay in an on-site hotel often pick the Paradise Pier Hotel for reasons of their budget.

So, just WHY are the Paradise Pier's rates less than at the Disneyland Hotel and the Disney Grand Californian? Because some visitors are afraid that the Paradise Pier hotel wouldn't be "Disney-fied" enough for them...so lower rates are used to lure in guests. The first choice of many visitors is the venerable Disneyland Hotel, the first Disney hotel to be built...and the ONLY Disney hotel for many years. A second popular choice is Disney's Grand Californian Hotel...which is the park's newest hotel, and has amenities such as upscale restaurants and being the closest hotel to the theme parks (including its own private entrance to Disney's California Adventure Park!)

The Disneyland Paradise Pier Hotel was a non-Disney hotel which was purchased by the park and "converted." In time for the opening of Disney's California Adventure theme park in 2001, the Disney folks were able to buy the hotel and re-do it, theming it to the Paradise Pier section of the new park! The Paradise Pier Hotel lies directly across the street from the colorful rides of the Paradise Pier section of Disneys California Adventure Park. In fact, the rooms which face the amusement park have some of the very best views of any Disney Resort hotel rooms!

On this page, we'll talk about the Disneyland Paradise Pier Hotel details---the hotel's amenities, its restaurants and dining opportunities, and the hotel address, contact info, directions, and Paradise Pier Hotel room rates. In addition, this page will hopefully dispel your fears that staying in the Paradise Pier Hotel won't be "magical." This hotel is every bit as whimsically themed as its two sister-hotels, and a delightful place to stay during a visit to Disneyland in Anaheim, California.

Disneyland Paradise Pier Hotel -- Amenities

Picture: Disneyland Paradise Pier Hotel rooftop swimming pool The Paradise Pier Hotel at Disneyland is an attractive 3-Diamond hotel. As you enter the lobby, you'll see a statue of Disney characters all dressed to go to the beach...because the Paradise Pier is supposed to be a BEACH BOARDWALK. The Paradise Pier Hotel works in cooperation with the Disney California Adventure park to thematically carry out the premise that Micky, Minnie, Donald and Goofy have left their homes in Toon Town to pay a visit to sunny California. This hotel co-ordinates with the theme of the Paradise Pier section of Disney's California Adventure in imagining that these Disney character friends have arrived for a stay at a sunshine-filled California beach. The decor and fixtures around the Paradise Pier Hotel will remind you of this beach theme...for example, a children's room with a "sandcastle" built around the TV screen! (You can see a picture of the sand castle TV just below.)

Room Amenities:Each room at the Disneyland Paradise Pier hotel has a refrigerator and coffee maker. You'll have room service, voice mail, the usual toiletries in the bathroom, as well as irons & boards. There are no safes nor cribs in the rooms, but these are available on request.

Swimming Pool: To your left, you can see the picture of the swimming pool and whirlpool at Disneyland's Paradise Pier Hotel---and it's up on the rooftop! Plus, the pool area also has a tall water slide for extra fun!

Picture: Cute sandcastle TV room at Disneyland Paradise Pier Hotel Exercise facilities: For a more serious adult workout, you'll find an exercise gym with all the latest equipment. (You can see a picture of the Paradise Pier Hotel's workout center in the slide show at the top of this page.) As you can tell by the slide photo of the workout room, the size of the room and range of workout equipment is completely adequate for the vacationing fitness buff. A partial list of the workout equipment includes high-tech stationary bikes, stair-steppers, and several treadmills. You'll find the Paradise Pier's workout facilities on the second floor of the hotel.

Game Arcade: A magnet for teen and tween guests at the Paradise Pier Hotel is the arcade game room. The arcade here is not as big as at the Disneyland Hotel, and can't fit larger games (such as air hockey). Yet, the Paradise Pier's arcade IS big enough to provide an hour or two of fun for die-hard game fans...to whom a vacation without video games wouldn't be fun at all!

Shopping: Like its two sister Disneyland Resort hotels, the Paradise Pier Hotel has its own Disney-themed gift shop where you may buy souvenirs of your visit...without having to stand in crowded lines at the stores inside the theme parks themselves. You'll find a range of Disneyland Resort, Mickey Mouse, and Disney Princess products at this fairly large gift shop in the lobby of the hotel. The gift shop carries clothing items such as t-shirts, jackets, jewelry and hats (including Mouse Ears.) You'll also find "souvenir items" such as Disney mugs and keychains. There's an assortment of toys, including Disney character plush animals.

Disneyland Paradise Pier Hotel -- Restaurants and Dining

Pictrure: Surfer Goofy statue at the Disneyland Paradise Pier Hotel All of the Disney Resort hotels have a Disney Character dining opportunity---and the Paradise Pier Hotel is no exception!

Do you want to enjoy a fun character breakfast with your kids? Try the Lilo and Stitch Aloha Breakfast! This is a buffet-style meal held at Disney's PCH Grill. You'll get a choice of eggs, including a made-to-order omelet at the omelet station. There will be waffles, pancakes, French toast, hot & cold cereals, bacon, sausage, sweet rolls, muffins, bagels, croissants...and plenty of fresh fruit. Of course, drinks---milk, juice, hot drinks---come included with the all-you-can-eat buffet meal. After breakfast, Lilo and Stitch leave, and the buffet disappears until the next morning.

For lunch and dinner at the PCH grill, you'll order individual meals from a menu. The PCH Grill is a casual-dining restaurant featuring American cuisine. You'll be able to order burgers, wood-oven-baked pizzas, and Mexican favorites. Prices at the PCH Grill, you can order dishes in the $8--20 range, with most of the choices falling along the lower end of that scale. Drinks and desserts are ordered separately.

By the way, the very NAME of the "PCH Grill" fits in with the Paradise Pier Hotel's beach theme. "PCH" stands for "Pacific Coast Highway," the beach-hugging road that runs through Los Angeles and Orange Counties in Southern California!

Want to try an exotic dining experience in an elegant atmosphere? Try the Yamabuki Restaurant which features authentic Japanese cuisine. By "authentic," I mean that I can't even tell you what's on the menu. I don't know what those words mean! I recognize the terms "sushi," "sashimi" and "shabu shabu"---but after that, I'm lost! Nevertheless, for non-adventuresome eaters, there are a few familiar items on the menu, such as teriyaki chicken and shrimp tempura. Vegetarians will be familiar with the tofu dishes, perhaps. Authentic Japanese ingredients are used, as well as traditional Japanese cooking methods. Table-cooked meals are also available (though they cost a bit more.)

If you're seriously consider staying at the Disneyland Resort's Paradise Pier Hotel, you'll want to check out their official web pages on the Disneyland.com website. To bypass the "introduction" pages of that website, use the following link to head straight to the Disneyland Paradise Pier Hotel official web pages. A complete listing of the Paradise Pier Hotel's room rates can be found within the official web pages.

As with all of the Disneyland Resort hotels, your actual room rates will vary widely depending on what view your room overlooks and upon what season of the year you travel.

View: On the Disneyland.com website, you'll see the term "Standard View Room." This means that from your window, you'll see either parking lots or the rooftops of Anaheim, California. The "upper level theme park view" room costs more. However, considering what a great view this is, you might be interested in paying the extra fee to enjoy it. (The extra fee you'll pay for the theme park view varies depending on the season you'll be visiting; the extra fee is higher during the summertime and holiday periods.)

Value season: More tourists head to Disneyland for summer vacation, Spring Break, and the Christmas season than at other times of the year. Therefore, your highest hotel rates will be during that time. During the off season, rates will be substantially lower.

In addition to standard hotel rooms, both one and 2 bedroom suites are available at the Disneyland Paradise Pier Hotel. This hotel also has a "Concierge Level" for greater service and pampering.
