Grand Californian Hotel's Room Rates
There are many different tiers of room rates at the Grand Californian hotel, depending on the type of room you choose, the season of the year you plan to visit, and how full the hotel expects to be at that time. Generally speaking, however, a "basic" room (not a suite) costs between $300-$500 during high season (which means summer vacation time and major holidays.) Rates are a bit lower during the off season, in the $200-$400 per night range. What makes one room at Disney's California Adventure hotel more expensive than another? Even among "basic" rooms sold on the very same date, the hotel rates will vary. Here are some explanations-- Room rates vary by your view: All the rooms at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel have rates that vary considerably depending on the type of VIEW you'll see from your large window. A view of Disney's California Adventure theme park costs the most; a view of Downtown Disney Anaheim costs less; and a "city view" is the least expensive. One difference between the Grand Californian Hotel and the other Disney Resort hotels, is that you'll never get an ugly view. The Grand Californian sits right in the middle of the Disneyland Resort, surrounded on all sides by beautiful things...and no parking lot views! (On the other hand, Disney's Grand Californian Hotel is more expensive than the other Disneyland Resort Hotels. You'll spend more for staying in a 4-Diamond hotel, even if you never use some of its extra amenities.) Another feature of all Disneyland Resort hotels is that their prices change drastically from season to season. The months when kids are in school...and so the Disneyland Resort's business is slow...is called "Value Season." Prices are lowered at the hotels to lure customers. Summer months have higher rates, called "Regular Season." Holiday periods, which are the busiest of all for rooms at the Disneyland Resort Hotels, have the highest rates...the "Holiday Season" rates. Considering the huge jump in room prices according to your date-of-stay, you might want to consider changing your vacation time to fit the dates when a more reasonable rate is offered, if you're able. Here's one tip for getting discount rates at Disney's Grand California Hotel: Since the Grand Californian is the Disney Resort's most expensive hotel, it's the last to fill up. In fact, during Value Season, when the resort has fewer visitors, the Grand Californian sometimes doesn't fill up at all. The hotel rates are dropped the last week before dates which are not expected to sell out.
