Want to spend the day with your family enjoying a tasty meal, browsing through interesting shops, and catching the latest movie? Greater Los Angeles family entertainment districts can give you just what you want! There are a number of great entertainment complexes scattered throughout the area which will give you a chance to relax and enjoy each other's company while reveling in an exciting, "happening" atmosphere.
Family Entertainment Hot Spots -- Downtown Disney District
Out-of-state vacationers to the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California might think of the Downtown Disney District as being simply an "extra bonus" while visiting Disneyland Park and Disney's California Adventure. Many locals, however, see the Downtown Disney District in Anaheim as being a true family entertainment destination in itself---and that's the way it was MEANT to be. Even if you're not visiting the Disney theme parks on this particular family vacation, there's no reason why you can't enjoy Down Town Disney! Make it a destination in and of itself. And, why NOT? It's got movies, dining, and interesting stores through which you can browse. You can enjoy an entire afternoon or evening at Downtown Disney...and never even step foot into a theme park! However, I won't be including Downtown Disney Anaheim in this "Family Entertainment Hot Spots" section because this great entertainment complex has already been discussed in the Disneyland Resort pages of this website. You can dine, browse, catch a movie AND see the Pacific Ocean right across the street when you head for the family entertainment hot spot of Main Street, Huntington Beach! You'll have a wide array of cuisine-types from which to choose when you dine along Main Street, Huntington Beach---and most of the restaurants here are one-of-a-kind (meaning they're NOT part of large, all-the-food's-the-same chains!) Did you bring your pet with you on your family vacation getaway? Main Street in Huntington Beach is very casual about bringing Fido with you to dine; most of the restaurants on Main Street, Huntington Beach allow your dog to sit with you when you eat in the outdoor "sidewalk cafe" portion of the restaurant. For a movie, catch your favorite flick at Mann's Pierside 6, where you'll see sweeping Pacific Ocean views right from the theater's box office!
