See pictures of the fun HS Musical 2 parade at Disney's California Adventure Park!
In the slide show above, you can see pictures of the High School Musical Parade which is no longer being performed. Since it was such a great parade, this page will remain for all those who wish to remember it.
The High School Musical, High School Musical 2, and High School Musical 3 movies have been extremely popular Disney Original Movies. They were greeted with much anticipation when they aired on the Disney Channel cable TV station. Then, when the two movies were released to DVD and video, their appearance caused a frenzy of movie-buying!
The High School Musical Parade is now over, but this page will remain so that all of us who loved the parade can remember it.
The folks at Disney California Adventure placed the High School Musical 2 parade into a regularly scheduled slot for the months of Spring & Summer 2008. It had upbeat music, relentless cheer---and the cute kids from the crowd with whom the High School Musical Parade's cast members interact---were nearly certain to leave you grinning from ear to ear!
When the parade was performing, it gave several performances per day. The parade marched down DCA's traditional parade route, making several stops along the way.
At these times, the stage came to life, the music & dancing began...and the onlookers began smiling, clapping with the music, and even singing along!
High School Musical Parade Pictures
You don't need to have seen the High School Musical movies to enjoy the parade! The HS Musical 2 parade at Disney's California Adventure theme park gets its themes and music from the movies, but it's a celebration of movement and the joy of singing & dancing rather than a live play with a plot. The HS Musical movies have plots based on the themes of teen schemes and rivalries...a timeless characteristic of this youthful stage of life, to be sure. But, the parade itself has a goal of getting the audience (and particularly the kids) involved with the action. In carrying out this goal, the parade remains upbeat...talking & singing about beach fun, sports fun and summer jobs, rather than love or school clique friction.
In the pics above, you'll see members of the High School Musical 2 parade cast dancing and singing. Some wear Wild Cats sports uniforms or cheerleading outfits. Others wear casual clothing. Some cast members stick mainly on the "stage" (which is the parade's one "float.") And even MORE cast members take to the streets dancing, clapping, singing...and interacting with the crowds lining the streets of Disney's California Adventure!

Kids love getting drawn into the High School Musical 2 parade's action!
The High School Musical parade pictures on this page were taken during one of its December 2007 performances. Of course, I couldn't post picture of other people's little kids getting involved with the performance, so the photos above are all of the HS Musical Parade cast members.
One of the biggest joys of the parade, however, is seeing kids from the crowd interacting with the cast members! At 3 different times during the performance, kids may leave their places in the audience to get into the center of the action!
Sometimes the kids dance with cast members. Or do the limbo! It's a perfect photo opportunity for parents...and something that some of the kids may remember all their lives.
In the photo above, you can see High School Musical 2 Parade cast members using buckets as props during the show. Those are far from the only props used! As you've seen in the slide show pics, baseball equipment, limbo bars...and even long pieces of fabric used to re-create ocean waves...are used as part of the performance.
To your right, you see a picture of the High School Musical Parade Float heading down the street as the first performance is about to begin. While some of the cast members stand on the float waving to the onlookers as it moves along, even more of the young men and women march and dance ahead of the float. They seem to be enjoying their parts as singers, dancers and actors in the parade...every bit as much as the audience enjoys watching it!
