Going to the Knott's Halloween Haunt in 2009?On this page, you'll see photos taken at the 2007, 2008 and 2009 Knott's Scary Farm events. Maybe looking at them can help you decide if you want to attend the Knotts Halloween Haunt this year. Or, maybe you've already been to the Halloween Haunt & the pics will remind you of the fun you had! If you missed seeing Part 1 of these pictures (mostly about the Ghost Town scare zone) you can use the next link to visit the Knotts Scary Farm Pictures, part 1 page of this website. Photo note: In the picture of The Doll Factory maze entrance below, you're looking at one of the Knott's Scary Farm mazes that was new for 2007 and returned again for 2008 & 2009. Needless to say, you won't find Barbie & Ken inside! You can't fall asleep in front of these dolls...'cause you just might not wake up again!
Knotts Scary Farm: Carnevil Scare Zone picturesDo you like EVIL CLOWNS? Knott's Scary Farm is the place to find them!In the slide show above, you're viewing pictures of scary Evil Clowns at the 2009 Knott's Halloween Haunt in Buena Park, California. Whoa---what circus did THESE frightful characters escape from? Believe it or not, these are only a FEW of the evil clowns who might be sneaking up upon you when you visit this year's Knott's Scary Farm!
Every scare zone at Knott's has a different atmosphere...and as you can see, the CarnEVIL scare zone has its killer clowns!
As you can see from these pictures, the scare-actors put a great deal of time & attention into the costumes and makeup for their evil clown characters. It's all in fun...but keep a watch out for who's sneaking up behind you!
The evil clowns pulled a joke on me as I shot their pictures---first one clown turned her back on me...
...and then, for the next pose, a different clown turned around!
This evil clown looks like he's been in a fight! Bet it took some time to apply all THAT much fake blood!
The Knott's Scary Farm decorations tie in with the theming in the Carnevil area. As you can see in the picture to your left, this "evil clown" lamppost helps send shudders to onlookers with his sly, toothy grin! Knotts Scary Farm--The Gauntlet Fright Zone During the daytime, Knott's Berry Farm's "Camp Snoopy" area offers kids a chance to enjoy tame rides that are themed to the cute Peanuts cartoon characters. And, on weekends in October, a cute "Camp SPOOKY" celebration is held, where kids can greet Snoopy all dressed up in his trick-or-treating costume, and walk through tame Halloween mazes. At night, tame little Camp Snoopy turns into an eerie scare zone called The Gauntlet. It's dark...the lights are dim...and you feel like you should be watching over your shoulder so someone won't creep up behind! And rightfully so--The Gauntlet Scare Zone is crawling with horrifying monsters!
In 2007, I had bad luck...because there weren't many monsters roaming this scare zone. But in 2008 & 2009, I hit the jackpot---there were evil monsters lurking everywhere! Their costumes and makeup were a work of sheer artistry...as you can see in the slide show at the top of this page (and in the monster photos to your left and right.) The sound of screaming filled the air! The monsters in The Gauntlet stalked their victims and appeared from out of nowhere. But, in the spirit of good-natured fun, the monsters would mug with their victims afterwards, even taking photos for their family albums. The public seemed to love all the attention the monsters were giving them...and The Gauntlet was a very popular & busy place on the night I attended. Knotts Scary Farm -- Mazes
On the right, you see the sign announcing the Black Widow's Cavern, a scary attraction that returned to the Knott's Halloween Haunt in 2009.Usually, this is simply the Calico Mine Train ride...a rather calm little choo choo that makes a few mild swoops and swerves along its trek, passing vignettes of miners along the way. For Knott's Scary Farm, though...let's just say that this is NOT a place to go if you get scared of spiders!
Here's the sign for another maze called "13 Axe Murder Manor," which takes place in the Mystery Lodge (near the Knott's Berry Farm wild water rafting ride.) This popular maze was at Knott's Scary Farm in 2007 & 2008, but will not be coming back for 2009. Knott's retires its haunted houses after only 2 or 3 years to keep the event fresh for returning victims...oops, I mean guests. Knotts Scary Farm -- Rides and Games
One great thing about the Knott's Berry Farm Halloween Haunt is that most of the rides stay open for everyone to enjoy! (Camp Snoopy rides are closed, and some of the attractions are being used for Knott's Scary Farm activities. But most popular rides are open & running.) On your left, you see a photo of the XCelerator roller coaster at night. With its death-defying hairpin curve---that aims you head-first at the ground below you at terrifying speeds---riding this mean machine is every bit as scary as a Halloween maze!
And, as you can see in the photo above, many arcade games are open, as well. The arcade game above has been specially themed to the Knott's Halloween events!
In the picture to your right, you can see how lovely the Knott's Berry Farm Swing Ride looks at night when all its lights are brightly glowing!
Not every store is open during the Knott's Halloween Haunt, but many of them are. Any time is a great time for browsing! There are also a number of sales carts open. Some, such as the merchandise cart in the photo to your left, are decorated for Halloween and make use of black lighting effects!
You won't go hungry while visiting the Knott's Scary Farm Halloween Haunt. A number of eateries are open for the event...including the popular Johnny Rocket's Diner that you see in the photo to your right. Do you need info about Knott's Scary Farm dates & hours? If so, don't forget to visit the 2009 Knotts Halloween Events page of this site!
