The large Lakewood Center Mall is a convenient place to shop because it offers consumers so very many stores and restaurants all in one place. It's not the easiest mall to reach from other parts of the Los Angeles metro area, because it doesn't sit directly to the side of one of Southern California's many freeways. On the other hand, it's not overly difficult to reach, either. The mall lies only several miles off of 3 different freeways: the I-405 freeway, the Interstate 605 freeway, and the California 91 freeway. Traffic generally flows easily along Lakewood's wide boulevards, and the tall, shady trees---which are a striking feature of this city---make the drive to the mall from the freeway a pleasant one.

The Lakewood Center Mall is also surrounded by other shopping centers, which increases still further the number of shopping opportunities you'll have once you get there.

New for 2009--Costco discount warehouse! The mall's long-awaited Costco is now open and awaiting your business! The Lakewood Mall Costco phone number is (562)295-1506. Costco's hours of operation are as follows: Monday thru Friday, Costco opens at 11 am and closes at 8:30 pm. On Saturdays, Costco's opening time is at 9:30 am and its closing time is at 6 pm. Every Sunday, Costco will open at 10 am and close at 6 pm. For Business Members, there is an "exclusive" shopping time from 10 am to 11 am Mondays thru Fridays (before the store opens to the general membership.)

The Lakewood Center is simply a GREAT place to shop if you're a plus-size woman!

Naturally, all of the department stores---Macy's, JC Penney's, and Target---all have plus-size departments. In addition, there's a good selection of stores featuring plus sizes within the mall itself. These include: Lane Bryant, Mode Plus, Tempest Plus, and Torrid. American Eagle doesn't offer the full range of plus sizes, but they DO carry up through size 18 and/or XXL on most popular items of women's clothing. This wide range of choices for curvy women is refreshing, and contrasts sharply with some other shopping areas...such as the Beverly Center Mall, where you'll feel (and be treated as) plus-sized if you even wear a size 12.
