Incredible Lego Miniland Cities, Part 2

In the slide show above, you're viewing photos of Lego Washington DC, Lego New York City...and the new Lego Star Wars scenes! In the pictures of the Lego White House, US Capitol Building and other monuments, you can note the detail with which these Lego buildings are constructed. And as you can tell by the pictures of the Lego Guggenheim Museum, Manhattan skyscrapers, and Bronx Zoo, Lego's miniland cities are nothing short of a true work of art!

Lego Miniland Cities

Lego Washington DC!

Picture: The US Capitol building made entirely of Lego bricks! Legoland California On your left, you see the United States Capitol Building---made entirely of Lego bricks! Needless to say, all of the re-created buildings here at Legoland's Miniland were completely and thoroughly researched before their design was ever begun...in order to bring you completely accurate replicas!

In front of the Lego Capitol, you'll see a miniature marching band playing (see the photo on your right.) Little Lego passersby have stopped to listen and enjoy the music!

Though we haven't shown it in a photo, you'll see a made-of-Legos miniature inaugural parade driving down the streets of Lego Washington DC! During the Clinton administration, the parade included mini Lego Bill and Hillary Clinton...and after that, the parade featured mini George W. and Laura Bush! These days, of course, you'll see Lego President Obama and his wife. This rotation of the presidents is just one of many fine details that helps to make Legoland's "Miniland" section so visually stunning.

Photo: Tiny Lego people form a marching band. Legoland California Most of the major national monuments and famous buildings of Washington DC have their little bitty counterparts here in Legoland California. You'll find the Lego Washington Monument, the Lego Lincoln Memorial, the Lego Jefferson Memorial, and the Lego Smithsonian Institute...and even THAT'S not the whole list!

In the photo to your below and to your left, that's---of course---the Lego White House, as detailed and beautiful as the original, only smaller.

This Lego Washington DC exhibit should be seen twice---once during the broad daylight for admiring all of its little details, and then again at twilight, when Legoland California completely lights the set...giving it a glowing, romantic look. Of all the city scenes at Legoland, though, I think that the evening lighting of our nation's monuments in the Washington DC set is the most beautiful of all!

Lego Miniland Cities --

Lego New York City!

Photo: Statue of Liberty made entirely of Lego bricks! Legoland California Here's a replica of still another national monument dear to the hearts of Americans---the Statue of Liberty! (As always, you'll notice great detail included by Legoland's master builders!)

Although you can see most of the Lego New York City exhibit on foot, the best view of the Statue of Liberty replica (which is out in the Legoland Lake) is on the Legoland California's "Coast Cruise" ride. (I'll be discussing that great-for-all-ages boat trip on the next page of this section.)

Photo: New York city street scene made entirely of Lego bricks! Legoland California

What's a replica of New York City without mimicking the Big Apple's bustling street scene? You'll see PLENTY of whimsical details of life in the big city within Lego NYC. In this photo on your right, you see taxis hauling their fares, and folks scurrying to and fro...doing their shopping and getting to their appointments.

Photo: New York skyscrapers made entirely of Lego bricks! Legoland CaliforniaIn the photo to your left, you see the Lego skyscrapers of Miniland New York---featuring the world-famous Empire State Building. Recently, this Lego Mini City was completely refurbished AND Legoland added a brand new attraction---the Freedom Towers (replicas of the buildings being build on the site of the never-to-be-forgotten twin towers of the World Trade Center.)

The Statue of Liberty, the skyscrapers of the Big Apple and the bustling street scenes in themselves would make a great display...but in true Legoland style (to squeeze in as much fun as possible!), there are still MORE New York City reproductions to be found here/

For example, the Guggenheim Museum is here in it's mini-version...that architectural spectacle full of delights for city visitors. You'll find Rockefeller Center and Central Park...and more!...all very thoroughly detailed. You'll feel like you were really there!

Enjoy Lego Star Wars Scenes!

The Lego versions of Florida's Space Center and Daytona Speedway have been moved to make way for Star Wars scenes

Large Star Wars exhibit opened in Miniland for Spring, 2011! The Lego Space Center and Daytona Speedway have been moved from the park to make room for Star Wars!

Legoland California always had a soft spot for the Star Wars characters. After all, the Lego versions of Darth Vader, R2D2 and Chewbacca have already been at Legoland for a number of years. And, Legoland has sold Star Wars building kits for years, as well...so you can make your own Death Star and X-wing Fighters (and more) at home...entirely out of Lego bricks! So, what is new about the Star Wars Miniland exhibit?

The Miniland exhibit features scenes from all 6 Star Wars movies, that's what! Though miniature in size, this exhibit spans the entire series, including not only characters, but also scenery, famous buildings, space craft, ground vehicles...and everything it takes to make guests feel like they're viewing their favorite scenes from the movies!

What's your favorite Star Wars place? Naboo? Tattooine? Endor? Hoth? They're all represented at Miniland...and even MORE!

Star Wars fans will want to try to spot their favorite movie characters, as well. All the major characters are represented---Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker, Padme Amidala, Obi Wan Kenobi, Yoda, C3PO, R2D2...and more. As you look through the different scenes of the exhibit, you can try to see how many of them you can spot!
