The Moreno Valley Mall is a large, climate-controlled shopping mall which opened in 1992. Old-timers to the area may remember that the land on which the Moreno Mall sits used to be part of the Riverside International Raceway, which closed in 1989.
Boy, has this area changed since then! The Moreno Valley Mall is merely the centerpiece for a large Riverside County shopping district! The mall is flanked both to the east and to the west by even newer shopping plazas...and THOSE shopping centers are flanked by still OTHER stores & restaurants. It would certainly be difficult to come away from this area of Moreno Valley NOT having found the goods or services that you need!
Visitors to Southern California will enjoy the mall because it lies along a major freeway heading into greater Los Angeles---the California Hwy 60 freeway---so it's convenient for making a quick dinner stop or picking up a needed purchase. Plus, it's virtually impossible to get lost here, even if you're not familiar with the area. The mall is in plain sight of the lanes of traffic passing by it. Not just one, but TWO freeway exits let traffic in and out of the mall easily. It's a tourist's dream rest stop!
