In the slide show above, most of the Pismo Beach campground pictures that you see were taken in the Oceano Campground of Pismo State Beach.Though Pismo's Oceano Campground does have direct beach access (nor views,) its location is within easy walking distance of the shore. Giant trees gracing Oceano's campsites with shade is a major feature here, and a real treat for the eyes. Restrooms with running water & showers mean that families bringing back small children will have an easy place to wash off the grit and salt from their bodies. All in all, it's a convenient location with a number of good amenities, and you'd probably enjoy camping there. Oceano's Campsites, Pismo Beach State Park
The Pismo SB Oceano Campground has 82 camping sites. Both RV's and tents are accepted at the Oceano camping ground.RV Campsites at Oceano Campground: The Oceano Campground offers both water and electrical hookups. A large percentage of sites provide easy pull-through access; the rest are back-in camping spaces. All interior roads are fully paved, and so are the parking aprons (as you can tell from the pictures of Oceano Campground on this page.) There are 4 camping loops at the Oceano Campground, and 2 of them (the two loops with hookups) are reserved for RV's to use (vehicles up to 36 feet in length.) One specifically-designated handicap space is available, with an 18 foot maximum length. Tent camping at Oceano Campground: Sites without hookups are available in 2 of the 4 camping loops at Oceano state campground. However, tenters don't have the luxury of keeping all these camping spaces to themselves. RV's, camper vans, and travel trailers may share them, too (not to exceed 31 feet in length.) 1.) Each campsite has its own picnic table and grill 2.) Each camping space is placed a reasonable distance from its neighbors. Thick green lawns grow between the camping spaces and other areas. Tall trees provide shade. 3.) Flush toilets, along with sinks and showers featuring city water are available in restroom buildings spaced throughout the 4 camping loops. Water spigots are placed throughout the camping loops which don't have hookups. 4.) Wi Fi service is available at the Oceano state beach campground. 5.)
