The Porter Ranch Town Center is an attractive new shopping center that lets travelers make their purchases with easy-off/easy on-again freeway access. With its stores located just to the north side of the California 118 Freeway, you'll have no trouble finding the Porter Ranch Town Center.
The Porter Ranch Drive exit, which you'll take to reach the plaza, is delightfully traffic-free in comparison with other greater Los Angeles freeway intersections. Why? Because unlike most exits along The 118 Freeway, Porter Ranch Drive does NOT connect to the San Fernando Valley streets to the south. Porter Ranch Dr only heads north into the less-populated new developments of the Porter Ranch.
Not only is there less traffic at this exit than many others, but also the medium-sized Porter Ranch Town Center's stores can offer you almost any type of merchandise you're seeking. And if you can't find what you want here, just one exit away on the freeway you'll come to Tampa Ave; a short drive down the beautiful pine tree-laden Tampa Avenue will take you directly to the Northridge Fashion Center Mall, where you can pick up any items you weren't able to find in Porter Ranch. (Porter Ranch is great for finding "general merchandise," but for clothes and accessories-shopping, the Northridge Mall is the better choice.)

This is a location of the popular ladies-only fitness center which specializes in time-efficient workouts along a circuit of stations through which the clients rotate. A great family exercise option in the Porter Ranch Town Center area is the North Valley Family YMCA; address, 11336 Corbin Ave, Northridge, CA 91326. Only a quick trip from the shopping plaza, you'll find activities for the whole family to enjoy, from swimming lessons for the kids to strenuous workout classes for adults (plus much more!) The Porter Ranch YMCA phone number is (818) 368-3231. The generous hours of operation at the YMCA are as follows: Mondays through Fridays, the Porter Ranch YMCA opens at 5 am and closes at 10 pm. On Saturdays, the Y's opening time is at 7 am and its closing time is at 7 pm. On Sundays, you can expect the North Valley YMCA to open at 8 am and close at 6 pm.

ENTERTAINMENT AT THE PORTER RANCH TOWN CENTER--- Unfortunately, at this time there are no movie theaters (nor other entertainment) at the shopping plaza, nor at the nearby Tampa Avenue shopping centers. Shopping hours also vary from business to business at the Porter Ranch Town Center. Some stores operate on the mall-like schedule of 10 am to 9 pm Mondays through Saturdays, with shortened hours of 11 am to 7 pm on Sundays. Other establishments offer much longer hours of operation. Directions to the Porter Ranch Town Center: From the CA 118 Freeway, take the Porter Ranch Drive exit and head 1/2 block north. You'll find the shopping center at the intersection of Porter Ranch Drive with Rinaldi Street.
