Photo of a colorful iguana decoration in the Rainforest Cafe of Downtown Disney Anaheim Question: What's the most popular restaurant in Downtown Disney Anaheim? Well, I've never seen and compared the sales statistics for the various restaurants at Downtown Disney...but judging from the amount of inquiries this website gets about the various restaurants, I'd have to declare the Rainforest Cafe as the "popularity queen!" I thought I had included enough info about the Rainforest Cafe on the first page I wrote about it (the page just previous to this one, if you're reading "in order.") But, reader curiosity about the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney is so great, that it has been necessary to include more information.

Do you have questions about the Rainforest Cafe? Maybe you'll find your answer here on this page!

Rainforest Cafe FAQs and Photos: Menu Details

Photo: A Rainforest Cafe menu advises would-be diners of this meal's favorite selections at the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney Anaheim Question: Can you give me more details about the Rainforest Cafe's menu?

I generalized the menu details about the Rainforest Cafe on the previous page for 2 reasons: 1.) Casual readers with only a mild interest in the subject don't want to wade through a bunch of specific details about the Rainforest Cafe's food. And, 2.) a "generalized" menu doesn't need updating! The Rainforest Cafe will always change its menus once in awhile---to please its many repeat visitors. Yet, they'll always keep their food to variations of their basic cuisine...because they don't want to alienate those same repeat guests!

But...since several of you REALLY want to know the details of Rainforest Cafe's menu, then here goes! Just bear in mind that this menu is current in January 2008, but could change at any time.

The Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney Anaheim serves breakfast! As at lunch, there's even a kiddie menu for breakfast! And, naturally, "exotic and tropical" names are given to the menu items, in keeping with the tropical rain forest theme of the cafe.

Picture of colorful lizard at the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney, Anaheim, CA Here are some of the selections you can expect to find on the breakfast menu at the Rainforest Cafe in Down town Disney---

Most of the Rainforest Cafe's breakfast meals come served with side orders---bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, toast, or a combination of these. If you love ALL these side dishes, try ordering the breakfast meal called Breakfast of Bandits, which consists of scrambled eggs served with all the sides.

Breakfast entrees cost around $10, with the exception of the steak dishes...which cost $14+. Each entree & side dish combo makes a hearty meal that should keep you full for hours as you trek through the Disneyland Resort's theme parks!

The Rainforest Cafe's kid's menu features some of these same dishes, but in child-sized portions. The children's meals cost around $6, and include milk or juice in a souvenir cup.

Rainforest Cafe Logo & Characters

Picture of the Rainforest Cafe logo, seen on the restaurant's sign and menu Question: Would you post a photo of the Rainforest Cafe logo?

Well, I guess the Rainforest Cafe sign is what you'd like to see. The Rainforest Cafe logo is on each location's sign. It's also on the menu at every Rainforest restaurant location, as well.

The Rainforest Cafe logo is a collage of the "Wild Bunch" characters...the 8 jungle animals who, collectively, are the Rainforest Cafe's mascots. Knowing who these 8 critters are will help you understand the names of the Rainforest Cafe's menu items. You'll spot the Rainforest Cafe mascots on various items in the Rainforest Cafe's gift shop, such as T-shirts, hats and mugs.

Here are the names of the Rainforest Cafe's Wild Bunch mascots-

1.) Cha Cha, the red-eyed tree frog. This loveable-looking fellow seems to be very popular with younger guests! His image is seen prominently at the Rainforest restaurant, in the gift shop, and on the company's website.

2.) Iggy, the iguana. (Hey...I once had an iguana named Iggy, myself!)

3.) Maya, the jaguar

4.) Ozzie, the orangutan

5.) Rio, the Scarlet Macaw

6.) Bamba, the gorilla

7.) Tuki, the baby elephant

8.) Nile, the crocodile.

Rainforest Cafe Gift Shop

Photo: A view of the Rainforest Cafe gift shop in Downtown Disney Anaheim, California Question: What items does the Rainforest Cafe sell in its gift shop?

Just like the stores in your local shopping center, the merchandise at the Rainforest Cafe is always rotating so that shoppers continually have a fresh selection of things to buy. The merchandise falls into several general categories---clothing, toys, trinkets and educational products.

You can find Rainforest Cafe clothing for every member of the family---men, women, boys, girls. You'll find an abundance of T-shirts and hats. During the fall and winter, you'll find warmer items like sweatshirts.

Toys tend to feature animal-related playthings. You'll find a plethora of small stuffed animals, plus wooden animals and rubber animals. Educational items for both kids and adults are available, as well. You'll find books about animals and ecology, for example.

As for the trinkets, expect to find "gift shop standards" such as mugs, magnets and keychains.

Close-up photo of a T-shirt sale at the Rainforest Cafe Gift Shop On your right, you see a children's T-Shirt display at the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney Anaheim. If you're able to read the signs, you'll note that the T-Shirts are "on sale" for the price of 2-for-$16.99. The shirts come stamped with colorful pictures of the Rainforest Cafe characters. They're available in a variety of sizes from toddler to teen.

I just bought children's T-Shirts this week at a Mervyn's Department Store...where the regular price of the shirts was $16 each, and the sale was 50% off. Thus, you can see that the price of the shirts at the Rainforest Cafe compare to what you might expect to pay in your local department store.

Rainforest Cafe FAQs and Photos: Is it worth it?

Rainforest Cafe's exotic Mayan Temple building at Downtown Disney Anaheim, California Question: A meal at the Rainforest Cafe can get pretty expensive. Is the experience worth the price?

It's true that your bill can really add up at the Rainforest Cafe. For a family of 4, your bill can easily come to $60. That would be if you and your partner ordered $15 entrees, the kids ordered $7 meals, you ordered soft drinks, and either a dessert or an appetizer. By the time you'd add taxes and a tip, you'd be lucky to come out of the restaurant for $60-$70. No wonder some visitors wonder, "Is the Rainforest Cafe worth the price?"

On the other hand, the Rainforest Cafe's prices are totally in-line with many other popular chain restaurants. You can easily spend $60 on a meal for a family of four without leaving your own home town.

So, my advice is the following---

If you like to dine out regularly, yes, the Rainforest Cafe is just as "worth it" as any other popular chain restaurant.

If you want to provide a special experience for your kids---because the restaurant really is SO CUTE---then, yes, it's "worth it."

But, on the other hand, if you really just want to satisfy your hunger...maybe you'd be happier dining at the Anaheim McDonalds or another fast food restaurant. At McDonald's---where you could feed that same family of 4 for $20 easily---you'd save $40, which you could use to enjoy some additional sight-seeing during your family vacation to Los Angeles.

What's inside the Rainforest Cafe's temple top? Lush jungle foliage! There are a few ways to save money at the Rainforest Cafe. You could enjoy breakfast instead of lunch...in which case, you'll still see the same cute decor, but you'll spend less money on your food. Or, you could limit yourselves to ordering the less expensive dishes, like the hamburgers. Or, you could go in the evening "just for dessert." Not hungry? You can visit the Rainforest Gift Shop---which anyone, even non-dining guests, may enter. While you're in the gift shop, you'll be able to take a peek at the Rainforest's decor. The entire experience---including browsing through the delightful, unusual merchandise---will be free-of-charge (as long as you can resist buying the adorable gifts that you'll see there!)

Photo note: Have you ever wondered what's inside the top of the Rain forest Cafe's "Mayan Temple?" In the picture of the Rainforest Cafe's "Mayan temple" style top to your right, you can see your answer: it's vegetation! The interior of the temple's "steeple" is open to view from below. As guests climb the stairs to the second floor of the restaurant, they can see clear to the top---and this is their view!
