Halloween Adventure temporary stores have announced their 2009 locations! The huge Halloween Adventure seasonal stores are getting ready to open---perhaps you'll find one in your neighborhood! When will the Spirit Halloween stores & Halloween Adventure stores open for 2009? Spirit Halloween Store locations will begin opening up one-by-one beginning in September; all of them should be open by the first week of October, 2009. All Spirit stores will remain open through early November...usually closing several days after Halloween festivities end. The Halloween Adventure stores have already begun to open, and will continue throughout September.
Remember, both the Spirit Halloween company and the Halloween Adventure company continue to take orders via their websites all year long...to help you with your costume and party decorations, no matter what the holiday. Also, the Halloween Adventure store has one year-round location in Southern California that's always open, no matter what the season (see info below.) Strangely enough, the Halloween Adventure company's year-round store is called "Costume Warehouse," not Halloween Adventure. You can see a picture of the Costume Warehouse store to your left.
What is a "temporary" Halloween costume store?
Spirit Halloween and Halloween Adventure are temporary, seasonal stores.What are temporary Halloween stores? These are shops that operate ONLY in September and October every year, and are specifically designed to bring you a wide range of Halloween costumes and decorations. While your local party stores, grocery markets and discount stores will certainly be setting up aisles filled with costumes and supplies, the limited space they have will not allow you the widest variety of Halloween merchandise that's possible. Temporary Halloween stores are large...big enough to bring a much wider range of Halloween decorations, costumes, wigs, masks and accessories than your corner store can offer you.
You may not have heard of the Spirit Halloween Stores or the Halloween Adventure stores...simply because MOST of the year, these companies sell costumes on-line only. BUT...for just 2 months before Halloween, Spirit stores & Halloween Adventure stores pop into local malls and shopping centers so that you can pick out your costume from a company which makes Halloween costumes the very heart & soul of their business. They know costumes and costume accessories inside and out because they deal with them 12 months of the year via their on-line store fronts. And, after Halloween is over, you can still fix problems, get information, or find costumes for other occasions at their websites.
Why are temporary Halloween stores a benefit to you? You get the widest possible selection of Halloween costumes, while keeping the prices you pay as low as possible.
Obviously, selling Halloween costumes can't keep food on the tables of a large staff of employees year-round. (Selling costumes is not a job YOU'D want to depend on for money...in April...right?) Well, here's their clever idea. A FEW staff members can concentrate the costume business year-round via their internet-based stores. They can work on developing a large catalog of costumes and accessories, while only having to pay a few employees to do this.
Then, when Halloween time rolls around, their temporary stores pop into whatever vacant spaces they can find. Temporary employees get hired. A frenzy of activity ensues as Halloween-lovers choose their costumes, masks & makeup. Then, the stores simply fold up after Halloween. Costume prices stay low...and everyone is happy. (It's just like how the Calendar Club sells its huge line of calendars every December, then disappears after the New Year gets ushered in.)

Locations may or may not be the same as last year. Since Spirit Halloween and Halloween Adventure both use store spaces which happen to be sitting empty at the moment Halloween is approaching, this list of locations changes from year to year. And, it might not be the same as the locations will be next year in 2010, either. It all depends on what retail spaces are vacant at the time the temporary Halloween shops are ready to open.
