Easter at Downtown Disney's Build A Bear!
Build a Bear shows Disneyland's first "signs of spring!"
What's a great way to celebrate Easter and the arrival of Spring?
Head to a location of the Build A Bear Workshops! If you're planning to spend Spring Break at the Disneyland Resort, you'll be glad to know that there's a location of the popular Build A Bear Workshops in Anaheim, California. It's just outside the Disneyland theme park's gates...in the shopping, dining and entertainment district called Downtown Disney. The Downtown Disney Build A Bear location is large & roomy...with 2 floors of bear-building fun just waiting for you! The Downtown Disney Build A Bear store ALWAYS celebrates holidays...and Easter is no exception! Christmas trees and Valentine's Day cards are barely put away before the first Easter items start arriving. (St. Patrick's Day is also celebrated at BuildABear, but since Easter falls in March in 2008, the two holidays are being celebrated simultaneously this year at the store.) In the picture of a cute teddy bear wearing an Easter costume above, you can see the outfit's pretty pastel colors. It looks as if the costume were meant to resemble an Easter egg! In the picture of a cute Build A Bear Easter Bunny and Cat (to your right) you can see that Easter egg costumes aren't the ONLY clothing in which you may dress your springtime Build A Bear animal. New springtime "fashion clothing" styles are added to the Build A Bear clothing lineup every year, as well!
And in the picture of a Build A Bear chick and white bunny rabbit to your left, you can see that the adorable Build A Bear stuffed animals don't need any clothing at all to look cute. If you're on a budget, the reasonably-priced animals (about $16 to $20 before adding clothing) are ready to add to your home Easter decorations , or join a child's play session, even without any special costume at all. What animals are sold during Easter time at Build A Bear Workshops? Naturally, there are teddy bears...just like all year long! But, you'll also find cute yellow chicks, bunny rabbits, and kitty cats all waiting to celebrate the first signs of spring with you. The Downtown Disney Anaheim Build-A-Bear store's phone number is (714) 776-5980. And, just in case you need it, the Build-A-Bear Downtown Disney Anaheim address is: 1540 S. Disneyland Drive, Anaheim , CA 92802. For information about Build-a-Bear merchandise and store locations worldwide, you may consult the company's website at www.buildabear.com If you can't get to a Build A Bear store for your Easter Bunny or Chick, don't worry! Easter Build-A-Bears are sold all year long on EBay, the on-line auction website. Here is a widget which will show you all of EBay's current auctions of Build A Bear Easter animals and clothes:

Spring Break 2008 at Disney's California Adventure--
The Disney Electrical Parade is running---AND the new Pixar Play Parade debuts!
Disney's California Adventure Park is celebrating Spring Break with THREE different parades! In addition, an all-new version of Disney's Playhouse, a live show for children, debuts at DCA just in time for the Easter holiday period. Here's a list of the parades you'll find at the park during Spring Break Vacation 2008:1.) Good news! Disney's Electrical Parade is up & running nightly for the Easter Holidays! The many fans of Disney's Electric Parade have a good reason to get geared up for some fun---during Spring Break at Disney's California Adventure, their favorite parade will be performing nightly! Once called the Disneyland "Main Street Electrical Parade," this crowd "favorite" is now one of the delightful entertainment offerings at Disneyland's sister park, the Disney California Adventure. (If you haven't been to Disney's California Adventure yet, this park lies just across a pedestrian plaza from Disneyland Park, itself.) If you'd like to see pictures of Disney's Electrical Parade, you're welcome to check out the Disney's Electrical Parade Pictures page of this website!
2.) Big news! The Pixar Play Parade debuts March 14, 2008 at Disney's California Adventure Park! The Block Party Bash parade ended its run in California in January, 2008. (It has now moved to Orlando, where it will thrill crowds at the Disney Hollywood Studios theme park. If you enjoyed the Block Party Bash when you visited Disney's California Adventure---and you'd like to see pictures of the Block Party Bash parade to remind you of the fun---you may visit the Block Party Bash Pictures page of this website.)You'll see MANY favorite Disney-Pixar characters in the new Pixar Play Parade. From the "Monsters, Inc." movie, you'll see Sully, Mike, Boo, Roz, George and Needleman. From the "Toy Story" movies, you'll enjoy Woody the Cowboy, Jessie the Cowgirl, Buzz Lightyear, Slinky Dog, Rex the Dinosaur, Mr. Potato Head and Bo Peep. From the "A Bug's Life" movie, Flik, Princess Atta, Heimlich the caterpillar, and Slim will appear. From the "Finding Nemo" movie, you'll view the show's star, Nemo the clownfish, along with hisdad, Marlin; Crush the sea turtle; and forgetful Dory. Still other characters appearing in the new Pixar Play Parade will come from the Disney-Pixar movies, "Cars," "The Incredibles" and "Ratatouille" (which was chosen "Best Animated Film for 2007" by BOTH the Golden Globe AND the Academy Awards!) You'll see the characters of Remy & Emile, Mr & Mrs Incredible, Frozone, and Lightning McQueen & Mater. In addition, both a newly created musical score and soap bubbles will fill the air to create a vibrant, playful atmosphere for the lighthearted parade. It's certain to be a hit!
3.) High School Musical 2 parade for Spring Break, too! As if the new Pixar Play Parade and the old-favorite Disney Electrical Parade weren't enough, there will be a THIRD parade at Disney's California Adventure Park during the Easter season of 2008! It's the youth-oriented "High School Musical 2" parade, featuring music from this popular Disney movie. It's an interactive parade which draws up kids from the crowd into joining the action! To see pictures of the High School Musical parade and get more details about it, please view the High School Musical Parade Pictures page of this site.
Big news for Playhouse Disney fans! An all new Playhouse Disney show debuts at Disney's California Adventure just in time for Spring Break vacationers! Beginning on March 14, 2008, you'll enjoy all new action inside the Playhouse Disney theater...and new characters, too! You'll see characters from the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, from Handy Manny, and from the Little Einsteins, too. If there's a young child in your family, be sure to catch the brand new, updated version of this popular attraction for little kids.
Disneyland Park's Spring Break Fun for 2008
Parade lovers, you'll be happy that Disneyland Park will be hosting the popular "Walt Disney's Parade of Dreams" TWICE every day throughout the Spring Break vacation time. (If you'd like to see pics of this popular parade, please check out the Disneyland Parade Pictures page of this website.) Also, the "Remember, Dreams Come True" fireworks display will take place nightly during Spring Break, PLUS there will be 2 showings of the terrific Fantasmic nighttime multi-media extravaganza during the holiday period, as well! (Showtimes will be at 9 pm and 10:30 pm.) Fun for kids at Disneyland Park: Two other very popular entertainment options for kids will be performing shows regularly throughout the day. These are the Disney Princess Fantasy Faire, which is aimed at the young girls in your family (but boys are certainly welcome, as well;) and the Jedi Training Academy interactive show. The Jedi Training Academy will teach your young son or daughter how to battle the forces of evil with swashbuckling light saber methods. They need to concentrate with all their might; their skill in a real battle with Darth Vader or Darth Maul will depend on it! To see pictures of the fun your child may have, please see the Jedi Training Academy Pictures page of this website. Disney Princess Fantasy Faire: Your kids will see 3 Disney Princesses up close with every showtime. Between performances, you may line up to MEET them! To see pics of the fun, please see the Disney Princess Fantasy Faire Pictures page of this website.
Spring Break 2008 at Disneyland---
Alice in Wonderland's Easter Buffet
At the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, the Disneyland Hotel is helping to celebrate the Easter/Spring Break season with a special celebration of its own...by hosting Alice in Wonderland's Easter Buffet in its huge Grand Ballroom! Alice in Wonderland herself will be there...and a few of her very best friends, as well! This brunch-style meal will feature both breakfast and luncheon favorites. Breakfast foods will include a variety of styles of eggs---including a made-to-order omelet station. There will be Mickey Mouse-shaped pancakes and waffles, and a feast of sausage, bacon, ham, fresh fruit, cereal, and a variety of pastries, including muffins, croissants and sweet rolls.
The luncheon component of the Alice in Wonderland Easter Buffet will include shrimp, salmon, ham, chicken and beef dishes, an array of vegetables, a salad bar featuring green salads, fruit salads, and other favorites (eg. pasta salad).
Needless to say, an astounding assortment of luscious and tempting desserts will be there, as well! And naturally, an assortment of beverages will come included with the Easter feast. The cost for this Easter Sunday (March 23, 2008) event will be--- $83.02 for adults $21.06 for children ages 3 through 9 FREE for children ages 2 and under! Now for the bad news---reservations are currently full for this fabulous, fun feast. HOWEVER, the reservations employee tells me that "every time we take reservations for a large, holiday buffet, we get lots of cancellations." These are not pre-paid reservations, after all...just people who have reserved their spots "in case" they decide to attend. Therefore, the reservations clerk encourages you to call her on and off as the "big day" approaches...as she expects seats to open up to new guests. The Disneyland Dining Reservations link is (714) 781-DINE (3463).
Don't forget---all of the other regularly scheduled Character Meals will be operating Easter Sunday, as well. (All 3 hotels and both theme parks at the Disneyland Resort offer Character dining meals. At the Disneyland Hotel, the Character Meal, as usual, will be in Goofy's Kitchen. At the Paradise Pier Hotel, the delightful Lilo and Stitch character meal will be held, as always, in the PCH Grill. The Storyteller's Cafe hosts the character dining experience at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. The beautiful Plaza Inn on Disneyland Park's Main Street hosts the Minnie & Friends character meals, and at Disney's California Adventure, Princess Ariel even has her very own restaurant dedicated to hosting her character dinners!) You may make reservations for these fine character meals by calling that same Disneyland Dining Reservations phone number (which was (714) 781-DINE.)
Not interested in attending a Character Meal for Easter? Don't forget that in Downtown Disney Anaheim, the House of Blues holds an every-Sunday Gospel Brunch...and Easter Sunday (March 23rd) is no exception! There are 2 seatings scheduled for the Easter Sunday HOB Gospel Brunch...10 AM and 1 pm. You'll dine on breakfast and luncheon favorites with a distinctly Southern flair. How about down home biscuits and gravy? Or spicy Shrimp Jambalaya? Other offerings include Catfish Bites, Southern Cornbread, and BBQ chicken. There's Eggs Benedict, Prime Rib and carved-to-order ham. Plus, all the trimmings you'd expect...fresh fruit, rolls, veggies, a selection of meat dishes, salads and desserts. Adult prices for the Gospel Brunch (which features live Gospel music while you're eating) are $33, while kids ages 3--9 cost $16.50. You can call the Anaheim House of Blues at (714) 778-BLUE for further information, or to order tickets to this fun event.
Spring Break 2008 at Disneyland---
Extended park hours in effect!
Some Disney enthusiasts become disappointed by Disneyland's shorter operating hours during the "off season" months...which generally includes April. Disneyland lovers, you don't need to cry during spring break, because longer, summer-like hours will be in effect! Disneyland Park's super-long Spring Break hours of operation begin on Friday, March 15, 2008. Starting on that date, Disneyland will open at 8:00 am every day and close at midnight every day for 2 weeks! That's 16 full hours of fun both weekdays and weekends for family Spring Break partying! And, sad but true...Spring Break hours can't last forever. On Monday, March 31, 2008, the park's hours of operation start to scale back again to pre-Spring Break standards. On March 31st, Disneyland Park's opening is at 9 am and closing time is at 11 pm.
Interested in the Disney California Adventure hours of operation for Spring Break 2008? Every day of the Spring Break period (Friday, March 15th thru Sunday, March 30, 2008), Disney's California Adventure will open at 10 am and close at 10 pm.
Department 56 at Downtown Disney...
...your Easter decoration HQ's
Whenever you need decorations for ANY popular US holiday, think of Department 56, a store in Downtown Disney which specializes in "anything cute." Department 56 features at least SOME Christmas-themed merchandise year-round. But, being a fairly large store, Department 56 still has plenty of room for merchandise celebrating all the other holidays, as well. Naturally, they had a big display for Valentine's Day...and even a good-sized collection of St. Patrick's Day items.Easter, like Christmas, is another one of Department 56's favorite holidays. And, why not? With the beautiful pastel colors prominent in Easter-themed merchandise, the store enchantingly resembles a giant shelf of Easter candy!
In the photo on your left, you see the exterior of the Department 56 store glowing with it's night-time exterior lighting. And, in the picture on your right, you see images of but some of the numerous paster-colored Easter-themed merchandise that you can buy. In addition to the actual merchandise being sold within the Department 56 store, the store decorations whimsically and enchantingly carry out a Springtime/Easter bunny theme. If you would like to contact the Downtown Disney Anaheim location (Department 56 is actually a large company with MANY locations), the Anaheim store phone number is (714) 772-6828. The Department 56 address at Downtown Disney is 1540 S. Disneyland Drive, Anaheim, California 92802. To learn more about Department 56 merchandise and other locations, you may look at their website, which is department56.com.

The Disneyland Resort's colorful mouse ears and other
Easter-themed Merchandise
Naturally, the Build-a-Bear and Department 56 stores aren't the only shops at the Disneyland Resort which feature Easter-themed merchandise. Disneyland Park, Disney's California Adventure, the Downtown Disney Anaheim "World of Disney" store, and all 3 of the Disneyland Resort's hotel shops feature Easter merchandise! As you might expect, you can find Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and many of the Disney characters (as well as the Winnie-the-Pooh characters) dressed up in pastel colors and looking cute-as-can-be. For Spring 2008, you'll find a selection of colorful pastel Mouse Ears. For the first 50 years of the park's history, Mouse Ears were usually black. Then, with the advent of the Disneyland 50th anniversary celebration, "golden" mouse ears began to be sold. Well, perhaps the success of the golden mouse ears got the Disney honchos to thinking, "Hey, bet we could sell lots more mouse ears if we made them in many colors. People would want to collect a set of every hue!" (And, they very well may be right about that!) At any rate, in this photo to your left, you see just some of the new Mouse Ear colors that were available for Easter 2006. (2008 Mouse Ears for Spring 2008 are similar.)
