Enjoy Spring Break 2009 at the Disneyland Resort!Disneyland Park, Disney's California Adventure and Downtown Disney are crowded with guests during the busy Easter holiday season!
It's Easter and Spring Break time at Disneyland! And a new "Celebration Street Party" parade just debuted for the occasion! What's new for Easter/Spring Break 2009 at Disneyland Park? Here's the list--1.) Celebration Street Party Parade: 2009 is the year when "celebrating" is the theme for the Disney parks. Disneyland is offering free admission to guests on the exact date of their birthdays! Disneyland is also encouraging families to head to the Disneyland Resort to celebrate all the most special events in their lives--from anniversaries to graduations to being on the winning soccer team...and anything at all which is special to guests. In keeping with this "celebrating" theme, a new parade was created. Rousing music that tells you to "Celebrate YOU!" is played as colorful floats bring Disney characters clad in their party attire down the street. 2.) Easter activities at Disney's California Adventure: Unfortunately, the new parade at Disneyland is the only "big deal" going on this Easter/Spring Break at the Anaheim Resort. The delightful Pixar Play Parade will continue to delight crowds at Disney's California Adventure...but it was new for LAST Easter. The usual shows continue...Disney's Playhouse Live, the Aladdin Musical, and the HSM 3 parade. The big disappointment will be the fact that Disney's Electrical Parade won't be running this Easter. It's an annual ritual to "bring it out of mothballs" for the Spring Break crowd. But, with budgets running tight this year---Disneyland's budget included---the Electrical parade just won't be happening at this time. 3.) Easter activities at Downtown Disney: Build A Bear Workshop at Downtown Disney is in high gear right now helping kids of all ages...including some gray-haired, bespectacled ones!...churn out some cute-as-can-be Springtime and Easter stuffed animals. You can read about them in the next section of this page. Easter at Downtown Disney's Build A Bear!Spring Hugs Bear and Curly Lamb are 2009 Easter delights!"In the slide show above, you're viewing pictures of Spring and Easter Build A Bear animals and costumes! What's a greater way to celebrate Easter and the arrival of Spring than by making a new Easter Build A Bear at the Downtown Disney store? ![]() Photo note: To your left, you're viewing a picture of Happy Chick, the Build A Bear Workshop's limited edition stuffed animal for Easter 2008. You can see that Happy Chick is decked out in a Build-A-Bear Easter costume featuring beautiful pastel colors and creative, whimsical styling. Although Happy Chick is now out of Build A Bear stores, you can still find one from time to time on Ebay. However, the beautiful "Flower Egg" Easter costume is still available for purchase at your local Build A Bear Workshop. If you're planning to spend Spring Break at the Disneyland Resort, you'll be glad to know that there's a location of the popular Build A Bear Workshops in Anaheim, California. It's just outside the Disneyland theme park's gates...in the shopping, dining and entertainment district called Downtown Disney. The Downtown Disney Build A Bear location is large & roomy...with 2 floors of bear-building fun just waiting for you! The Downtown Disney Build A Bear store ALWAYS celebrates holidays...and Easter is no exception! Christmas trees and Valentine's Day cards are barely put away before the first Easter items start arriving. In the picture of a cute teddy bear wearing an Easter costume to your right, you can see the outfit's pretty pastel colors. It looks as if the costume were meant to resemble an Easter egg! However, Easter egg costumes aren't the ONLY clothing in which you may dress your springtime Build A Bear animal. New springtime "fashion clothing" styles are added to the Build A Bear clothing lineup every year, as well! Well dressed Build-A-Bears keep up with the latest style trends...just like their owners do! What animals are sold during Easter time at Build A Bear Workshops? Naturally, there are teddy bears...just like all year long! But there are always special seasonal animals every Easter time. This year, as you can see in the slide show above, the adorable Spring Hugs Bear is waiting for you in 2009. This fluffy pink bear is adorned all over with flowers. What's more, special embroidered flowers highlight the Spring Hugs Bear's nose and foot. In addition a "trading pin" comes with each Spring Hugs Bear...which happens to be a limited-edition bear, as well. Other "seasons of the year" bears will debut in 2009 for Summer, Fall and Winter. Curly Lamb is an Easter Build A Bear that you may enjoy building. It's white & furry all over, and can be dressed up in either an Easter-egg costume or the latest spring fashions. Of course, the Curly Lamb looks cute without any costume at all! A pink Unicorn debuted at Build A Bear Workshops in March, 2009...and, although unicorns aren't usually thought to be a "springtime animal," they're simply precious & would make a great "pet" or gift this Easter time. The Downtown Disney Anaheim Build-A-Bear store's phone number is (714) 776-5980. And, just in case you need it, the Build-A-Bear Downtown Disney Anaheim address is: 1540 S. Disneyland Drive, Anaheim , CA 92802. For information about Build-a-Bear merchandise and store locations worldwide, you may consult the company's website at www.buildabear.com If you can't get to a Build A Bear store for your Easter Bunny or Chick, don't worry! Easter Build-A-Bears are sold all year long on EBay, the on-line auction website. Here is a widget which will show you all of EBay's current auctions of Build A Bear Easter animals and clothes: More Build A Bear pics and info
In the picture of a cute stuffed Easter chick to your left, you're looking at another one of Build A Bear's famous "colorful Easter Egg" costumes. Disneyland's Spring Break entertainment for 2009
(Photo note: the picture of Belle and The Beast to your left was taken at the Disneyland parade which recently ended..."Walt Disney's Parade of Dreams." If you were fond of that lovely & lavish parade, you can "stroll down memory lane" on the Disneyland Parade Pictures" page of this site. Aside from the big new parade, what other entertainment will be on hand for Easter/Spring Breat at Disneyland in 2009? 2.) The "Remember, Dreams Come True" fireworks display will take place nightly during Spring Break. This fabulous, shimmering spectacle can be seen from many locations both within and outside of Disneyland Park. Some Anaheim hotels have great views! However, the firework show's soundtrack is full of Disney nostalgia and sentiment. Pick a spot where you can both see AND hear the recorded soundtrack for your greatest enjoyment. 4.) The Jedi Training Academy is a children's "favorite" at Disneyland, and WILL be up & running for the Easter vacation. The Jedi Training Academy will teach your young son or daughter how to battle the forces of evil with swashbuckling light saber methods. They need to concentrate with all their might; their skill in a real battle with Darth Vader or Darth Maul will depend on it! To see pictures of the fun your child may have, please see the Jedi Training Academy Pictures page of this website. 5.) Disney Princess Fantasy Faire will NOT be available. This "girl's favorite" attraction has been available at Disneyland during busy periods over the past few years...but budget cuts are keeping it stored away for Spring Break 2009. If you'd like to reminisce about the show--or find out what you missed---please see the Disney Princess Fantasy Faire Pictures page of this website. 6.) Billy Hill and the Hillbillies: This funny and lively musical show WILL be available for guests to enjoy during Spring Break 2009 at Disneyland. Be sure to check out the showtime schedule at the beginning of your visit to make your plans to attend one of these popular Frontierland performances.
Spring Break 2009 at Disneyland---Easter Buffet will NOT be held!
At the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, the Disneyland Hotel has traditionally celebrated the Easter/Spring Break season with a special celebration of its own...by hosting Alice in Wonderland's Easter Buffet in its huge Grand Ballroom! Alice in Wonderland herself made appearances there...and a few of her very best friends, as well! However, this year Alice and the Wonderland gang will NOT be hosting their popular buffet. Information about the buffet from 2008 will stay on this page, however, in hopes that when the economy improves, the Alice in Wonderland Easter Buffet will return. After all, it was sold out every year! The visitors clearly LOVE it! What foods were featured at Alice's Easter Buffet? This brunch-style meal featured both breakfast and luncheon favorites. Breakfast foods included a variety of styles of eggs---including a made-to-order omelet station. There were Mickey Mouse-shaped pancakes and waffles, and a feast of sausage, bacon, ham, fresh fruit, cereal, and a variety of pastries, including muffins, croissants and sweet rolls. How much did the Disneyland Easter Buffet cost? If the Easter Buffet returns in 2010, it is unknown at this time what the cost of tickets would be. However, the price for the Easter Buffet event was as follows in 2008: The Easter feast was very popular---reservations always filled up fast for this fabulous, fun feast. HOWEVER, the reservations employee told me that "every time we take reservations for a large, holiday buffet, we get lots of cancellations." These are not pre-paid reservations, after all...just people who have reserved their spots "in case" they decide to attend. Therefore, plan your 2010 strategy ahead of time...assuming that it WILL happen. If you would like to attend, call the the reservations line several months ahead of Easter 2010 for information. The Disneyland Dining Reservations line is (714) 781-DINE (3463). You will want to be one of the FIRST people to know about it and put in your name! So where CAN you dine on Easter at Disneyland?
All of the other regularly scheduled Character Meals will be operating Easter Sunday. (All 3 hotels and both theme parks at the Disneyland Resort offer Character dining meals.) You may make reservations for these fine character meals by calling that same Disneyland Dining Reservations phone number (which was (714) 781-DINE.)Everyday meals at a character buffet SEEM like holidays...with a wide assortment of favorite American-style foods available for guests. In addition, appearances of favorite Disney characters throughout the meal make it an experience you'll long remember (they come around to your table to chat and take photos with you!) You can even use a Disney Character Meal as a time-saver! After all, if you've got kids who want to meet the Disney characters, there's no better time than during a character breakfast, lunch or dinner. Once you've met the characters, that means you won't have to stand in long lines to greet them inside the theme park! The Disneyland Resort's colorful mouse ears and otherEaster-themed Merchandise
Disneyland Park, Disney's California Adventure, the Downtown Disney Anaheim "World of Disney" store, and all 3 of the Disneyland Resort's hotel shops feature new 2009 Easter Disney merchandise! As you might expect, you can find stuffed-animal versions of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and many of the Disney characters (as well as the Winnie-the-Pooh characters) dressed up in pastel colors and looking cute-as-can-be. You'll also find a selection of colorful pastel Mouse Ears. For the first 50 years of Disneyland Park's history, Mouse Ears were usually black. Then, with the advent of Disneyland's 50th anniversary celebration in 2005, "golden" mouse ears began to be sold. Well, perhaps the success of the golden mouse ears got the Disney honchos to thinking, "Hey, we could sell lots more mouse ears if we made them in many colors. People would want to collect a set of every hue!" (And, they were right about that! Many Disney fans love to purchase the latest color or holiday-style Mouse Ears.) At any rate, in this photo to your left, you see just some of the new Mouse Ear colors that were available for Easter 2006. (2009 Mouse Ears for Spring 2009 are similar.)
