Hasn't is seemed like FOREVER? It's hard to remember back to the time when there wasn't construction going on at The Oaks Mall. But, you can start getting in gear to shop 'til you drop, because The Oak's renovation is winding down...and the new store openings are getting ready to begin!The Nordstrom Department Store opened September 5, 2008! If you've been one of the many would-be customers just waiting for Nordstrom's arrival, it's time to quit x'ing off the squares on your calendar and get heading to The Oaks Mall. Shopping hours at the new Nordstrom Department store are as follows: Mondays through Fridays, Nordstrom's opens at 10 am and closes at 9 pm. On Saturdays, the opening time at Nordstrom is 10 am and closing time is 8 pm. And every Sunday, Nordstrom's will open at 11 am and close at 7 pm. The new Nordstrom Department Store phone number is (805) 418-4500. Other stores will soon follow Nordstrom's lead, and a very few have already opened. "Coming soon" to The Oaks Mall will be the following stores: Active Ride Shop, Aeropostale, American Eagle Outfitters (and its lingerie & loungewear offshoot, Aerie,) Barkworks pet store, Canfield Persons, Charlotte Russe, Dockers, Express (new location,) the ever-popular Hollister Clothing Co, Levi's, Lids, Marciano, Michelle D, Quiksilver Youth, Ruehl, and Williams-Sonoma (new location.) The Mann Theater, sadly, has closed at The Oaks. At the end of December, 2006, The Oaks mall became theater-less...and will remain without a cinema until the new expansion is finished (in the fall of 2008.)When the expansion project is finished, however, there will be a state-of-the-art, spacious 14-auditorium movie house at The Oaks, featuring plush chairs, stadium seating, state of the art sound and picture quality, and up-to-date decor! The Muvico Theater chain is proud to call this new cinema one of its own. You may not be familiar with the name "Muvico." That's because it's an East Coast theater chain that's opening its first cinema out west when it premieres at The Oaks. Movico bills itself as "The World's Premier Movie Experience. Besides the amenities mentioned above, Muvico offers VIP areas containing bars and restaurants in its theaters; children's play areas; themed auditoriums; and expanded menu at the concession stands. The Oaks location will offer all-digital projection featuring Sony Premier high definition technology.
