The Oaks Mall review
New stores and theaters continue to open at The Oaks Mall! 2009's economic downturn has played havoc with many malls, and a number of stores have simply vanished into thin air at many shopping centers since the New Year began. However, The Oaks is ADDING stores this year, as the mall's lengthy renovation and expansion reaches its end. In fact, just this year at least half a dozen new stores have opened, including Aldo shoe store, Athena & Co Jewelers, Benjamin Jewelers, Leonidas Chocolates & Cafe, Love Culture clothing and Paciugo Gelato!But you don't have to be a shopping enthusiast to enjoy The Oaks expansion. That's because the mall's new Muvico Theaters have also opened this year, bringing a state-of-the-art movie-going experience to area residence and visitors! If you never before thought of going to the movies as a "luxury experience," you may change your mind after you try out the Muvico's plush theaters and full-service restaurant/bar, Bogart's!
These brand-new mall additions come on top of other store grand openings in the Autumn of 2008. The "star of the show" last fall was Nordstrom's Department Store, which opened amidst a big bustle and hype in September. Other stores which recently opened at The Oaks in late 2008 included the Active Ride Shop, Aeropostale, American Eagle Outfitters (and its lingerie & loungewear offshoot, Aerie,) Charlotte Russe, Dockers, Hollister Clothing Co, Levi's, Lids, Marciano, Michelle D, Quiksilver Youth, Ruehl, and Sideline Sports.
In addition to the new businesses which have already opened, still MORE are on their way! "Coming soon" to The Oaks Mall will be the following stores: Lenscrafters, the Lazy Dog Cafe and more. Muvico Theater now open at The Oaks
Didn't it seem like "forever" that The Oaks mall was without a movie theater? Thankfully, the waiting time is over! The Oaks' new Muvico Theater opened at the end of February, 2009 and has been enthusiastically popular with area film-lovers ever since!The Oaks' Muvico theater is a state-of-the-art, spacious 14-auditorium movie house, featuring plush chairs, stadium seating, state of the art sound and picture quality, and up-to-date decor! In addition to "regular" auditoriums, you may also choose to see your film in a Premier Auditorium (for ages 21 and up) which includes pre-reserved seating. And not only does it have movies--it has a full service restaurant and bar (Bogart's) as well! (In fact, in the brief time that the Muvico Theater has been open, the restaurant has become nearly as popular as the theater itself. About 1/2 of Bogart's customers visit to enjoy the dining experience on its own---and never even go to see a movie!)The Movico chain bills itself as "The World's Premier Movie Experience. Besides the amenities mentioned above, Muvico locations offer VIP areas containing bars and restaurants in its theaters; children's play areas; themed auditoriums; and expanded menu at the concession stands. The Oaks location will offer all-digital projection featuring Sony Premier high definition technology.

This may sound simple to those of you visiting from outside the Los Angeles area, but locals know that at many malls, you'll only see palms, eucalyptus trees, and other plants that stay green all year long. Just looking at them won't tell you whether it's winter, spring, summer or fall!
