On this page, you can look up Universal Studios Hollywood's operating hours for the day you plan to visit the theme park.Most of the year, the Universal Studios California theme park closes earlier than other Southern California theme parks. Even during the busy summer tourist season, with Universal Hollywood's longest hours of operation in effect, the park still closes earlier than other parks like Magic Mountain and Disneyland.
Don't be alarmed by the shorter hours at Universal Studios Hollywood, though. Many of the park's attractions take place in large, stadium-style auditoriums and seat hundreds of guests at one time. You'll probably get to see MOST of the attractions you'd like to enjoy despite hours of operation which seem to be "too short."
If you're not ready to end your day of fun when the Universal Studios theme park closes, you can easily spend the rest of the evening enjoying yourself at Universal Studios Hollywood's CityWalk. The Universal Studios CityWalk is a family entertainment district stuffed with interesting shops and restaurants...and even night clubs, for the adults in your group. In addition, you'll find an AMC multiplex cinema, street performers, and a form of outlandish architecture that's great fun to look at and enjoy. Even better---the shops, restaurants and night clubs in the adjacent Universal Studios CityWalk stay open later than the park does---often MUCH later!

For the Memorial Day holiday weekend, however, expect much heavier crowds. The theme park's schedule will expand to make sure that everyone has time to enjoy the park's terrific shows and attractions.

Monday thru Thursday, May 3, 4, 5, 6: Universal Hollywood's opening time will be at 10 am & its closing time will be at 5 pm on these weekdays
Friday, May 7: Today's theme park hours will be from 10 am until 6 pm

Universal Studios Schedule, July 2010
Independence Day weekend, Saturday 3rd, Sunday 4th, and Monday 5th: Universal Studios will be opening at 9 am and will be closing at 9 pm.
Every Saturday and Sunday in July: Universal Hollywood opens at 9 am and closes at 9 pm. This includes Saturday 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31, as well as Sunday 4, 11, 18, and 25.
Every weekday other than Monday the 5th: Every day Monday through Friday, except for the previously mentioned July 5th, Universal Studios Hollywood is opening at 9 am and closing at 8 pm. This includes Thursday and Friday the 1st and 2nd, as well as every weekday from the 6th to the 30th.
Universal Studios Hours, August 2010
The summer tourist season at Universal is wrapping down to a close this month but there are still plenty of hours that the park will be open. The hours of operation are longest at the beginning of the month and gradually shorten slightly toward the end of the month. Universal Studios opens at 9 am every day in August except for the last two days when it opens at 10 am. Universal Studios closes either at 8 pm on weekdays and 9 pm weekends until after August 21st when the hours shorten.
Saturdays and Sundays, August 1, 7-8, 14-15, 21, and Friday August 6th: Universal Studios Hollywood will open at 9 am and close at 9 pm.
Weekdays from August the 2nd to the 20th excluding Friday the 6th: Universal Hollywood opens at 9 am and closes at 8 pm.
Sunday August 22 and Saturday August 28: Universal Studios Hollywood opens at 9 am and closes at 8 pm.
Monday August 23 through Friday 27, and Sunday 29: Universal Hollywood is opening at 9 am and is closing at 7 pm.
Monday and Tuesday August 30 and 31: Universal Studios Hollywood is scheduled to open at 10 am and close at 6 pm.

Now that the kids are back in school, it is a great time to visit Universal Studios. Although the hours are shorter than in the summer tourist rush, the reduced crowds will more than make up for it. Whith the shortened hours, you should still come early. If you choose to buy the all you can eat pass, you will have to remember to get it earlier in the day, because they stop selling it as it gets within several hours of closing time.
