The layout of this "lifestyle center," as developers prefer to call it, is reminiscent of an old-fashioned small town's shop-lined central square. You'll find streets lined with broad sidewalks and shady trees within the shopping area.
Decorative landscaping and colorful flowers help to create the aura of beauty and luxury within the center. There are benches for taking a rest, awnings and other interesting architectural details to the buildings, and even some parking spaces right in front of the stores ! (As well as generously-sized free parking lots ringing the edges of the shopping center. Fighting over parking spaces would REALLY be out of place amongst this tranquil scene!)
Indeed, shopping at Victoria Gardens on a day when the weather is beautiful and there's not much of a crowd is a fun and interesting experience. Victoria Gardens is a true tourist attraction in its own right! On the other hand, on busy days, Victoria Gardens can be less pleasant. Cars are allowed within the streets of the shopping center. When there are only a few vehicles, there's no problem with combining motorists and pedestrians. But when there are "tons" of cars, pedestrians feel like they're always fighting for a chance to cross the streets (while the motorists feel that they "can't get anywhere" because there are always pedestrians in the way.) Close parking spots fill up and treking in from the farthest spots becomes the norm.
If you need to shop on busy weekends or holiday periods, plan your shopping trip in advance and your experience will be more pleasant. Arrive at the mall early before the thickest crowds hit. Aim for a parking spot near to your destination. Take a moment to enjoy the mall's beauty (and, at Christmas, the seasonal decor and the holiday music which fills the air.)
