If it's been awhile since you headed to Plaza Bonita, you'll be glad to know that new stores have opened, and a fresh new look await you! Major new restaurants---the Corner Bakery Cafe and Dickies BBQ---have opened recently. Ethnic food-lovers will enjoy the new Jollibee fast food restaurant and Red Ribbon Bakeshop, which feature flavors from the Philippines. Major new stores include an H & M clothing store, which already has fashionistas making a beeline for its doors. The new Target store features designer-created clothing and housewares at discount prices. And, of course, movie lovers are surely aware that a lovely...and very special...AMC Theater opened in the past year. Plaza Bonita's AMC movie theater was long-awaited and highly anticipated for film-lovers in the National City area. This wonderful new cinema opened last spring to enthusiastic crowds! The new AMC theater was well worth the wait. Why so?

The AMC Plaza Bonita 14 Theaters feature all-digital projection! Only very select theaters can make that boast! Now ALL your favorite films shown in digital-only formats (such as 3d Bolt, etc) will be able to be shown here. Even if the film you want to see will also be shown on film projectors elsewhere, you can head to the Plaza Bonita AMC to see a digitally-projected version...that has more than 4 times the resolution of an expensive HDTV set! (Just when you thought that nothing could top your home theater system's clarity!)

3 of Plaza Bonita's AMC auditoriums are giant-sized! These super-sized theaters have screens which are more than 3 stories tall and over 50 feet wide so you won't miss a bit of the action. Naturally, plush love-seat style chairs and stadium seating are the rule in this terrific new AMC cinema location.

LARGE BORDERS BOOK & MUSIC STORE now open at Plaza Bonita! If you haven't visited Plaza Bonita for several months, there's a double treat in store for you. Not only are the AMC Theaters open, but so is a large new Borders book store. This is no ordinary Border's store! Is the new Borders Book Store shiny & new looking? Of course! But there's more going on here than may first catch your eye. This is a special "Borcers Concept Store," featuring extra digital and internet options not available at "regular" Borders locations. An in-store "digital center" will enable customers to mix and make their own custom CDs, download books and music, publish their own books, explore their family history, and create photo books. The new Borders at Plaza Bonita also features the same comfy, "make yourself at home" atmosphere which has made Borders popular in the past---including chairs for customers to sit & browse, and a cafe for relaxing and refreshing.
