In the slide show above, you're viewing the 2010 Halloween Contest's Women's Category winners and runners up. The Women's Costumes category was very large, and so it has several co-equal winners instead of just one (like the smaller categories have.) Aren't they terrific?
The judges had a difficult time deciding among the many outstanding women's entries but slowly narrowed down the field. The 3 category winners are as follows: Bethany Ford of Indiana captured a win with her lavish and beautiful Red Queen costume. Marika Burke from New York wins with a fragile & lovely Corpse Bride gown. And, Morgan Hill (Arkansas) wins with her original interpretation of the Beetlejuice movie costume.
Runners up in the Women's Individual category also had outstanding costumes. Two different contestants did a take on comic book characters, with terrific results. Both Beth Harned of Illinois and Ashley Bounds (Texas) developed wonderful "comic book girl" disguises.
One beautiful angel, submitted by Kyle Rathgen of Utah, and two devilish characters also won runner up prizes. Disney's evil Maleficent was cleverly made by Hannah Peterson (also from Utah) and Rosa Burks of California concocted a very unusual Dia de los Muertos disguise.
Rounding out the Women's Category winner's list is Tara Lofgren from Oklahoma, who grabbed a runner up spot with her unique, originally-designed Coca Cola dress.
